Thanks. Nope- no day off but I will be working from home after 12 while I wait for the township inspector to approve rough electrical work in my basement. Fun, fun.

Thanks. My friend and I actually started the work a year ago but after the blizzard last year (23") causing a water leak and getting busy with other things, we didn't work on it for several months. While getting my pool electrical hookup inspected in October, the township official saw rough work done without a permit and threatened to fine me unless I got one and WOULD NOT sign-off on the pool until I did. Now, they're making me jump through hoops. I've been taking pics through the process and will post a link to a website with the photos. It's not a big basement and nothing particularly tricky in design except for the pre-wire for speakers, CAT5 and COAX everywhere (just-in-case). We also put a box in ceiling above the drop ceiling for a mounted LCD projector sometime in the future (gotta pay down the pool HELOC money first)

Sweet!! I did that about 6 years ago and wish I would have put more wiring in (you can never have too much). I at least put speakers in the wall. The projector is one thing I didn't think about.

A nice 9 month project to do the whole thing but very much worth it. Enjoy the day!

Sux to read this. I'm going down a similar path as you and will be ready for drywall in a couple weeks. My basement is a walk-out full of Windows on the back, but I'm careful to not work at night and I keep the inside clutter free. We don't need no stink'n permits aka county revenue-raising. The inspectors are a joke around here anyway.

Happy B-Day!
