I HAVE A 2003 BASE MODEL MDX. I WANT TO ADD A DVD PLAYER. WOULD IT BE BETTER TO ADD A TV IN THE HEADREST OR MOUNTED ON THE ROOF. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHICH WOULD BE THE BEST BET ON A DVD PLAYER.

Its really a matter of preference. Personally, I would get the monitors on the head rests. There are numerous members that have installed head rest monitors and flip downs. You can do a quick search and check out some pics they posted.
If you got $$, I would go with the visualogic head rest monitors. I believe they are around $1200 a pair. A couple of members had those installed and they look really clean.

| I have on 04 and was afraid to install the overhead monitor because the wiring would have to cross the side curtain airbags at some point - usually down the b-pillar from under the head-liner. I went with the 5.8" headrest monitors - not visualogic because they were $500-$600 a piece, and this is really just to keep the kids occupied. I must say that the visualogics are probably the nicest, easiest set up, but also the 7" screen seemed a bit too close to the viewer - didn't want to hurt my kids' eyes. Most installers say the overheads will not interfere with the side curtain bags, but I know that if I were to have any problem with the SCAs, even if it had nothing to do with the overhead monitor, the dealer would use it as an excuse to void the warranty :eek: I'm paranoid about such things, but its just my opinion. A DVD player can be installed under the seats with no trouble. Good Luck and post pics when you're done!! |
