Pulled into Mammoth Mountain during a snow storm. This is a pic of the MDX in the Mammoth Ski resort parking lot. MDX handled the conditions without chains.

We had some good snow in February; I had mine out in
8-10" of real slippery, slushy stuff and it pulled
through like a champ.
Kind of felt like my 76 Honda Accord in the snow,
which is a compliment! |

I am anxiously awaiting my MDX (June?) and in the mean time have been checking out this forum for opinions and problems. We don't get a lot of snow here in Arkansas, however we do try to take a family ski trip to Colorado during spring break. I was wondering if you could feel the all wheel drive system engage after you felt slippage or was it completely transparent to you at the drivers wheel? Also, did you ever engage the VTM4 system? If so, how did it perform? I have heard some complaints about the system.Thanks for any comments.

Did not feel the system kick in. Most of my driving was around town and back and forth from the Condo to the resort. It handled really well in this stuff without any real slippage. I realy did not push hard, just normal driving. Never had a need to lock in the VTM. Felt totally confident and safe in this vehicle. Even let the wife drive it out at night to go shopping. She too was pleased with its sure footedness. |
