| Anyone have experience, positive or negative, of what can be expected from the base model's Goodyears in terms of performance in the snow. Thanks. |

Hi MIB:
___For spring, summer, and fall driving when lower dB output is a definite plus, higher mileage driven and economy received is a given, and or you need a real cost effective replacement, the GoodYear Integrity’s are a great all around All-Season tire. In the wet and especially in the snow, they truly suck. At least they do on the 03 Corolla and the feedback I have read on the tire sites in regards to the Integrity show the same.

| One endorsement to consider: A new manager I work with was a production engineer at Goodyear for 6 years. When I asked him, he pretty much dismissed the Integritys and swears by the set of Michelins on his SUV after taking a 6-hour trip in heavy snow last Friday night. |

| The few times it snows here, we had excellent luck with the Goodyears; basically, the X would go anywhere we wanted to go (much better than my Explorer 4X4 with Michelins). |

Now have 15,000 miles on my '03 base with the GY Integrity.
About 9,000 miles driving to Vermont for skiing.
In fact, just returned today.
So far NO PROBLEM at all with the Good Year's.
As to wear, I expect at least 60,000 miles.
In addition to no problem at all in the snow, they are good in the rain!
But I must add, while in law school at Syracuse in the '60s I drove a High Performance 1966 Mustang in snow almost every day - so driving an AWD MDX is a piece of cake!

They may truly suck on an 03 Corolla...but c'mon... any tire is going to suck on a Corolla. ;)
We live in a relatively severe winter driving environment and I've had no problems at all with the Integritys. I think I've heard other's say they're quieter than the Michelins in dry conditions so I'd probably go with the GYs again.
I think one's experience and skill will make a much bigger difference on the MDXs ability in snow/ice than the winter driving differences between these two tires. |

I drove my 2002 MDX during the 2002-2003 winter with the Goodyear tires. Acceleration was no problem due to the AWD. However, the tires provided terrible stopping distances and did not handle well when turning. Several times I almost did a 180 when cornering very slowly. As such I went to snowtires for the 2003-2004 winter. There is no comparison and I can not recommend driving with th Goodyear tires if you live where you get a lot of snow.
That said, even with snow tires the MDX fails in comparison to my Accord with snow tires. Compared to the Accord, the MDX does great with deep snow (due to the clearance) and acceleration (due to the AWD). However given its weight it still requires increased stopping distances and is more prone to spin as the weight/ momentum overtakes the tires traction. In my opinion, the SUX / AWD provides a false sense of security in the snow. All things being equal my Accord with snow tires is a better performer in the snow. Though it might get going slower - it handles and stops much better as it is a lighter vehicle.
My 2 cents. |

Hit 48,000 miles.....time for new ones.....putting them on TODAY right after work.
Time was up for 4 new tires and YES I got the Michelins again. Well worth the money and they perform GREAT in the rain and especially the snow in which I see a lot of in NJ, including very recently (this week).
Go Michelins.
More money YES, but the GoodYears aren't even close in overall performance, especially in rain and snow.

| I have to agree with xcel that the Goodyears are crappy under wet conditions. Actually, they're not all that impressive in dry conditions either. Maybe those of you who drive in the snow on a regular basis are far superior drivers, but for me lack of traction and soft sidewall support is, well, crappy. For me the CrossTerrains are infinitely better; I swapped mine at 28k miles and it was worth every cent. |

Yea things can get a little wet down here in Houston - don't see much snow, but plenty of wet. Wet traction is a major deciding factor where we llive. |
