I am looking to install a simple device that emits an audible "beep-beep" when the X is put in reverse. A number of units are out there; one in particular looks interesting. It is an integrated back-up bulb and audible alert unit meant to replace one existing back-up bulb.
Anyone have any experience with something like this or other units? Anyone know the bulb-type for the back-up light? Could not find anything on a search on this site about this topic but perhaps it's been discussed already.
I thought about getting something more fancy like a back-up camera system or ultrasonic sensors but this seems the best bang for the buck IMHO given that the kids are old enough to know to get out of the way if they hear a beep-beep. It's too bad this is not standard on the X. |

Actually, has been a few discussions on back-up alarms, I just posted one this morning ..do a search under Ebay.
And do additional searches under reverse or back up alarms, and Poron, and 12Voltshop.com |
