Nice! Acura really needs to distinguish the RL. The new TL is really good, so just adding 30 hp won't really distinguish the RL. Obviously the RL needs to be really pimped up and get a special feature, like AWD and/or hybrid status.
What I don't understand, though, is why the publications insist on directly comparing the LS430 to the RL. It's not really a fair comparison for Acura. Sure, they are both their brands' flagship products. But they're not really commonly cross-shopped because of their price ranges, are they? With options, the LS430 goes for above $60k, whereas the RL is low/mid-$40's. I can see cross-shopping the RL vs. a GS (and Lexus does have new GS models on the way), but not an LS430. |
