We palced an order on MDX 6 weeks ago. The sales rep convinced us that he would locate the config we wanted and it would arrive in ONE week, in the worst case two weeks.
It has been six weeks, and he now says that they have an MDX we wanted (Touring with Nav) but with the addition of DVD system. We have to get this one or wait undefinitelly again until they get our exact config.

I have never tried sitting in an MDX with DVD option. Can someone please tell me ASAP if a grown man can sit in the middle of the back seat with this option with no obstruction of front view and with no reduction of headspace?

I appreciate your help as always...
zafer
Yes, he can. If the screen is open it will obstruct his front view, as well as the drivers rear view through the mirror. If its closed, no problem.
Sir P
Thanks Zafer.
I have tried sitting in the center of back seat of some mid-large SUVs with DVD option. If I lean forward my head bumps into the DVD assembly. So I had to seat with my back firmly against the back rest of the seat. Is it not the case with MDX?

I sat in the back seat of an MDX w/ RES on the dealer lot - as zafer said a grown man can sit in the backseat with no problem other than if the RES in down and on thats what he'll watch:rolleyes:

One thing to think about, there are apparently NO headphone jacks in the system at all and I know that 2 sets of wireless headphones come with it - I'd question how many headsets can the system manage and how much do extra sets cost.

There is an old thread about extra headphones. Tim sells them for $42.90. I don't know how many it can work with. Maybe xcel does, I think he bought extra headphones.

i chose not to get the RES because of the blocked rear view mirror. instead i will be getting 2 tv's in headrests, capable of playing a movie on 1 and a video game on the other. all installed for $1500. plus it looks way nicer than having that big thing hanging down.

Although we do not have the DVD/RES, I did notice that the RES system does have, in addition to the 2 wireless headsets, three headset jacks in the 3rd row armrest.

With the flip screen up I've never had a problem with it either sitting in the middle of the 2nd row or blocking my view for the rear view mirror. One thing that catches some people by surprise is when you get the RES you get a single in-dash CD player and the 6-disc is moved under the driver's seat.

Thanks for reminding about this, this is a good point. Does this cd changer occupy a lot of leg room for the person sitting behind the driver? Can that person still move their feet (toes) under the driver's seat ?
