| I have found a dealer for Big Brake upgrade for the MDX. Anyone intrested? I think if we do a groupbuy we can get a better price then $1250. Brand name is Rotora. Lemmie know who's intrested. Does anyone know the MDX stock rotor size by any chance? |

Why would you change the brakes??
My '04 brakes are excellent. However, I will admit that it took a couple thousand miles for the pads to 'burn-in. Otherwise, extremely adequate brakes (IMHO).
My '02 brakes were not quite as strong. They must have changed brake systems sometime between '02 and '04...........
For what it's worth, maybe an upgrade to an '04 might be a welcome change. :2: |

| Well I'm riding on 19 inch rims, i think filling that gap would look so much better. The Big Brake upgrade had a 4 piston caliper vs the MDX's stock 2 piston I think. There should be a signigicant different b/t the 04 and aftermarket |

| Brembo makes a big brake kit for the MDX as well. It is 4-piston and a decrease in unsprung weight. I read about it on the CL forum. |

JL889,
Did you get the Rotora BBK? I'm just wondering since I've been having issues with the stock rotors warping on me.

are the upgrades for front and rear or front only?
Never mind. Found the web site and answered my own question. |

| That's a lot of money for upgrade on SUV. You may try to replace stock brake pad first. I have replace stock brake pad with Hawk HPS on my MDX. The stopping power is probably increase by 25% over the original pads. This is more evident when you do a hard brake. One of the complain I had with the original pads was that my car would slip during the hard brake. This does not happen with these pads. I feel safer with these pads on. Pep Boys sell them for $80 but I bought mine from ebay for $55 shipped. |

sushix, I hate to appear dumb, but would it b necessary to als replace the rotor if you go to a non-OEM brake pad ? or as I am betting, the pad just displaces the original pad but the rotor and all other mehanism remains the same.
I agree w/ the OP - I do not have much confidence in my 2005 brakes w/ 23K miles...too much shimmy on a hard stop from 30+mph. |
