Although I know this is comparing apples to oranges, has anyone compared these two vehicles? I'm looking for something to replace my Isuzu Trooper. I have a family of 4: my wife & me, plus a six year-old and a four year-old. I want something that has seating for 7, in which the "extra" row of seats is foldable, not removable. Both the Odyssey and MDX satisfy that need. I'd prefer something with 4wd, but my use of 4wd will be fairly limited. (I use 4wd in my Trooper maybe half a dozen times a year, primarily for on-road use in snowy conditions.)
Although the luxury features of the MDX would be nice to have, I could certainly do without them to save $$. (The cost of the MDX is definitely pushing the budget envelope.)
So, anyone gone through the process of comparing these two?

| actually, the MDX is based on the odyssey platform. so, the odyssey is the father--the MDX the prodigy. sounds to me like you're more inclined to buy the odyssey. much better deal to haul the family. there's a reason why the odyssey has been killing the mini-van market. another great honda creation! |
