First, I just want to say that I appreciate this discussion board and all the input I have been reading for the past couple years. Now, to finally have something relevant to post has got a smile on my face from ear to ear.

I'm so excited I can barely sit still. :2: Working out a deal for an X and will be signing in the next couple days. Please tell me what you think about this deal...

That's over 3000 off MSRP. That sounds like a great deal!

Congratulations and Welcome!

I think you got yourself a sweet deal and I wish I could get the same for my soon to come 2nd MDX. You practically get the X at little over invoice which is quite remarkable. Care to share the name of the dealership with us?

That's $3445 off MSRP plus they are giving you the accessories for free? That's one of the best deals I have ever seen. Sounds almost too good assuming they are not squeezing you on a trade. Good luck. I'd definitly go for it.

Thanks for the comment. I got the deal from Gatorland Acura and if you go there ask for Teddy. He's by far the nicest salesman I have ever dealt with (Very honest).

Goodson Acura in Dallas had quoted me $4000 of sticker on 2004 models on the lot in mid January. No dealer added equipment was required.

I am currently trying to buy an '04 Touring/Nav/DVD and been emailing dealers in the area (incl. TX) asking for a quote, Goodson being one of them. This is a quote from their response to my inquiry:

"We currently have a large selection of Acura MDX in stock and available immediately. The MSRP for the 2004 Acura MDX with RES/Nav is $43,245.00, before TTL, added accessories, or any discounts. Currently, we are discounting the 2003 MDX up to $4000.00 and the 2004 MDX up to $2500.00."

I emailed back asking for a firm quote rather than "up to" and they replied that they had no MDX to meet my needs yet but if I leave a deposit blah, blah, blah but no info on the price...I asked them several times to give me a firm quote and they just plain ignored me . I bet they just wanted to get my interest with a loose offer and make me get there where they could force more options, accessories and generally just jack-up the price.

I don't know..I worked with a guy named Steve at Goodson ( I think). He handles internet sales. First contact with him was email and then a followup visit. I was on the fence about new or certified pre owned. Steve seemd very professional. No haggle required to get the $4k and this was on an '04 model. I will say that their preowned department was leaves much to be desired.

In the end, I found a preowned '01 Nav with touring at Vandergriff Acura with only 33K miles. Vandergriff was easy to work with over the phone. I even traded vehicle without them seeing it first (had my carmax quote with me). I don't know what kind of deal they make on new, but I have heard that they are the most competitive on sales (even Goodson admitted that). Ask for Lekedrin Johnson at 817-846-2624. His sales manager is Kim Rodda. Good people to work with.

Good luck with the purchases. Now if anyone can hook me up with a '01 Touring full size spare or cargo tray for cheap, cheap I would be most appreciative.

Wow, now I don't feel so good about my deal! I have an '04 X coming into the dealer in a week or two. I got my guy down to $39,500, which is just over 4% over invoice. No accessories, and the price that want to sell me accessories means I'll call Tim.

I thought invoice on these, with destination, was just over $37k. Between the price you're paying AND the accessories, that dealer is just going to squeak by on hold-back, if there's any left. Sheez!

CONGRATS! Thanks for making me feel like I didn't get enough money off! :)

A good deal on an MDX is very often location dependent - a good price in one area may not be a good price 1000 miles away. Unless one is willing to travel, you're stuck with the best you can do in your area.

Also if a trade is involved then the price alone for the new MDX does not define a good deal. The trade value is a major factor as well. What good does it do to negotiate an extra $1000 off the MDX only to lose it right back on the trade?

I'm still very happy with my $38,500 w/ 6 free oil changes and an excellent value for my trade.:1:

WOO HOO - I finalized the deal! Thanks for your help in making up my mind! I will soon be the proud owner of a SBP MDX. I also made sure that the value on my trade-in was above that listed in Kelly Blue Book. It was more than the trade-in value listed and about the same price as the Private Party Value(amount that I save on tax puts me over the Private Party Value).

Please post any suggestions I might need to know between now and when I bring my baby home. Again, Thank you all so much for your help!
