| will be getting either 20' or 22's in june. concerned though about the affect they will have on my odometer. has anyone who upgraded to bigger rims seen the difference in odometer readings? i know there are programmers out there that supposedly compensate for bigger rims which will give u the correct reading. |

Will you not be able to mount tires that allow you to maintain the overall ~29" stock diameter?
If not, the same calculators that allow you to pick the right size tires, will give you an error in percentage for anything not the same as stock.
All you need do is multiply that percentage against your odometer or speedometer reading. And subtract or add the result from the reading being displayed.
So if your speedometer is reading 60 mph, and you have a +2% error in tires size, your actual speed is 58.8 mph.
If your odometer is reading 10,000 miles more since you changed rims, your actual mileage would be 200 miles LESS., or 9800 miles. (Remember, larger diameter wheels turn fewer revs per mile).

If they are slightly smaller in overall diameter, you will add the difference. |
