| I would like to know how to install or replace one on my '02 X.......I got a leather one from Tim; I cannot figure out how to install it...............can anyone help? |

Hi,
Not sure if the attached picture will display OK. If not, I will try later.
1. Turn the armrest 180 degree to set cuphold into usable position.
2. Un-screw the 2 screws which holds the armrest lid/lock. The read circle in the picture.
3. Use fingers to pull armrest cover edge outward a little bit. See the blue arrows in the picture.
4. Use Philips/Flat pin to hold the gap.
5. Continue the step#3 to pull the whole cover out.
Once you figure out, it is too easy ...

The previous pic was the first time I posted pic in this site, and I was not sure wether that would display normally. You probably already figured out how to remove the armrest. This is another pic to show the armrest panel after you removed the cover. The red circles are those spots you need to pull cover outward little bit. Compare the pic and your new cover, you should be able to find those spots.
My X is 2003 but I don't think mine is different from yours. |
