I am interested in getting the Navi tuner offered by Sam from last year's GB. IS anyone else interested in getting this plug & play unit?
Warzau
Actually I am. SO we got two.Do you want to set it up?
Flounder
OK let me contact Sam & see what kind of GB pricing breakdown we can get.

He said that he doesn't participate in any group buys anymore. I guess he's doing pretty well w/ these tuner & won't discount to any group.

Now I'll have to bite the bullet & pay almost $600 for this kit.:(
Warzau
Hmm thats too bad im sure you said there was a great interest among the newer owners.
Flounder
& this is what he can only offer us. Here is his email reply:

"We will not be doing any group buy. The Only "group buy " last year was to introduce our new product to the market and only limited to 25 systems. If you have been following the forum, you know that our price is very low comparing to other "homemade looking" unit that has no function at all. Nosystem out there that can come close comparing to our system in terms of picture&product quality and the built-in features. What we can offer now is Free shipping for an order of 5 systems and up (Usually the shipping
is per system $20.00).

Thanks,
AVElectronic, Inc."

What do you guys think?
Warzau
Hmmmm free shipping? I mean I don't want to sound greedy but, free shipping? You know what I mean?

What do you mean? Do you mean is this all he is offering? No kidding huh.
Warzau
Yup, the fact that, that is all he is offering, especially since he used .org to sell it in the beginning.

I was going to say that exact thing yesterday, Warzau. I watched him peddle his product here on our board and this is the gratitude. Just because a few were Leary of the product and chose not to be the guinea pigs we miss out on the deal. I admire the people who jumped into the GB in the beginning but I chose to sit back and wait for any positive or negative feedback. From what I can remember there has been very little feedback on this product. I will assume that is a positive?? Not too impressed there Sammy!!!!

Very well said, but you have to admit the product is good. I've checked out alot of products for our Navi & so far none is as easy to install as this plug & play unit. Also I haven't heard anything bad about it.

A few members from the TL forum bought it for less a few months back w/o going in on a group buy. He has raised his price since then.

I think StreetEffectz is trying to get together a group buy on the Acura-cl and Acura-tl forums.

Just a FYI to EVERYONE, my contact at Molex, said that their engineers could not identify if they ( navi connectors) are Molex.

"There's no real way to tell if these are Molex connectors. Unfortunately the commodity-type automotive connectors pretty much all look the same since they're all made under the same standards. There would have to be a Molex (MX or MOLEX) marking on the housing or terminal in order to definitively identify it as a Molex connector. Furthermore, I've never seen some of the Molex Japan automotive connectors since they're made and sold and assembled in Japan without ever having made their way here other than a black and white print on an occasional PSR. Furthermore, some of the automotive OEMs use different suppliers for different connectors in the same design program, so these connectors could be from 2 or more suppliers. With commodity-type connectors like these, it's difficult - if not impossible - to tell the connector manufacturer without a marking (it's like trying to identify the manufacturer of a TV or microwave without being able to see the brand name!)

Sorry I'm not much help - "

I dont think its a lack of appreciation on Sam's part. Group buys are time consuming to organize and without a doubt, Sam must be very busy to keep up with demand. Its easier to just let the distributors handle sales.

If you guys are looking for a good price on the AVElectronic.Sam's unit, email me... we carry them and can offer group buy pricing. GarageAutomotive@aol.com

Thanks

Danny
