I'm planning to sit down with a graphics designer to talk about the site, and I need to know what screen resolution your computer is set to.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, do the following:
1. Minimize all your windows, until you get to your desktop
2. Right-click on your desktop and select "properties" from the menu.
3. Click on "Settings" tab
4. Note your "Screen Resolution" and answer the poll accordingly.
Thanks to all in advance! |

I'm 1280x1024 on the desktop but 1024x768 on the laptop. I voted for the LCD (lowest common denominator) which is the 1024x768.
Anything higher will create problems with lots of users. |

I run 1280x854 (I have a widescreen Apple laptop). GREAT MACHINE!
On my desk I use it with a monitor that's at 1280x1024.
So, my regular resolution isn't on the list... :p |

Dan,
Besides the customization of the Bulletin Board look, what areas are you having redesigned? Some suggestions...
1. Flash/Shockwave graphics are vector-based so will shrink and stretch to the viewers browser window.
2. You can build your HTML tables to "float" graphic elements across a 100% cell width to ensure
3. You can set background width in inches rather than pixels to maintain your look despite the user's resolution. (22" is 22" at any resolution)
4. Try to repeat images across the site and have them pre-load on the site home page. This will reduce caching on the later pages and bandwidth for you. |

Me, too. For what I do, I see no advantage to higher resolutions (I have a 17" Trinitron flat screen); at higher resolutions, some things seem too small for comfort. |

Yep, I am 1024x768 at work but 1680 x 1050 at home (widescreen notebook) so I voted for 1024x768. |

Guys I too set my 20 in CRT monitor at 1024 x 768
I do it because my eyes aren`t as sharp and even though I loose a bit of the sharpness-quality the icns and script are bigger and easier to read.
I have heard that the native resolution in a LCD, say a 20 in one, wouldn`t be a good inve$tment for me if I keep this same resolution setting I have now. The LCD is made for the next resolution setting up for better dtail and quality. I hope not, I loook at the ones in Best Buy or Frys but I don`t know what setting they have theirs set at. I would like to capture some of my desk top workspace at home woth the smaller foot print of the LCD and of corse the great colors.
I am thinking 6 to 8 hundred buck$ for one unless I go to the PC Swap meet or E bay. |

The redesign will entail the entire site, but the page layout will be more or less the same.
Thanks for the suggestions. |
