Rear wiper replacement? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Anyone replaced their rear wiper blade? My blade works fine one way, but on the turn around it doesn't flip over. I figured I would replace it with a new one, but I don't see how on earth Acura expects you to do it?

Probably another method for you to go to the dealership to get parts/service from them.

I ordered my wiper refills from Tim (~$10). It includes the front two and the rear.

Changing the rears is simple. Basically, remove the wipers/refills, take out the two metal pieces from the old wipers, install the metal pieces in the new wipers, and re-install the wipers back to the wiper assembly.

Ditto: Got my front blades (two different sizes) and back blade from Tim.

Be careful with back blade: It doesn't lift up all the way like the front blade!

Thanks,

I wanted to replace the whole wiper, but it looks like getting the refills will probably be the best way to go.

I have been using PIAA wiper blades for over a year now - lasted through 2 winters, very quite and still leave almost no streaks (just ordered replacement wipers) They have sillicon coating that helps repell water off the windshield. I wish I could replace the rear blade as well, instead of refill.

BTW, I think the rear blade can be 'unscrewed'. I have been going through the car wash and a couple of times the blade ended up in a vertical position and just hung loose. Initially, I thought something broke, but then was able to tighten it doing 270 degrees counter-clock wise.

Anyone replace their rear blade?

The back blade comes as the whole arm, and IIRC it's around $55.00

How do you disengage the rear blade from the arm? The cover is in the way.
Or should you do the change while on the X?

It cannot be done. See Tim's post above. Also no one at my Acura dealership has figured out how to do that job.

You either just replace the rubber insert or replace the whole arm.

Rather a poor design.
