Was looking through some of my photos and remember taking this picture of a Pantera on the way to Lake Geneva.

I saw one of those on Monday afternoon. Decided not to race it in my Miata.

i've been trying to take a picture of a local ferrari around here, oak park, ill area. It is the 360 Spider, but this person of family seems to have won the lottery, or come into money, this Ferrari is parked on the street overnight, it went from a beautiful stock 360 to gold pinstriping with flourishes on the door handles and tail. Gold wired rims, the driver and his wife i suppose, have late seventies permed like mulllets, and wear gym shoes and jogging pants. I dont mean to be rude but they look like they came from backwoods. Maybe one day I will catch a shot.

If memory serves, it has a FORD 351C. One big problem is that if you sat in traffic for a minute.....they overheated.

I like looking at old cars and driving new ones. :4:

Good memory! Actually, there are a lot of old ones I enjoy driving too, but owning is another matter.

Here is a nice site with interesting pictures.

Website includes a sound bite of the exhaust. What high performance cars used to sound like....

Thanks Dale, glad my mind still retains some useless old details. Pantera was introduced during my 'coming of age' years. Of course I spent a good 15 minutes visiting the link you provided from the good old days.

A 351 eh!

Anyone remember the Bricklin?

Got any pics?
mrlegend
I was cheering for old Malcom :(

Only picture I have handy is the one in my mind, it's Orange.

Yup, I remember the Bricklin. Owned a '75 Bricklin SV1 (vin 00841) for 24 years.

ByeByeChrysler mentioned the 351 and the Bricklin in the same post:

** The 351 was only in the '75s, the '74s had an AMC 360.

** The stock Bricklin had a 351 Windsor (not a Cleveland) with a 2-barrel carb. It also had every smog device known to man and more vaccum switches (to turn the smog crap on/off) than Carter has pills.

** The '75 was only available in a 3-speed automatic = Ford FMX tranny.

mrlegend remembers an "orange" color. Well, my Bricklin was Saftey Red which most would have called Orange (especially when parked next to a "real red car"). Bricklin International did produce an orange as well -- this was REALLY REALLY ORANGE.

If there is interest, I can look to see if I have any copies of the Brickline magazine (a Bricklin owners pub). Our Bricklin made the cover shot one year at the Western US Annual Bricklin Owners Meet (either the year we took President's Choice or Best In Show, don't remember which time we made the cover).

For those who are interested I found this link..

I had no clue what a "bricklin" was until I did a google search. Pretty neat car I must say. And from what I have read it is reasonably affordable if you want one.
