Thinking of visiting Sardinia for a couple of weeks. Would love feedback from anyone who has been there as to what was good/bad and any other tips.

May also incorporate a house purchase if a good deal can be found so any advice on Italian legal loop holes to watch out for would also be appreciated (of course, I would utilize an independant local solicitor as well).

Thanks.

My wife and I were there for 10 days about 15 years ago.

Absolutely fabulous. Water is spectacular.

My business used to take me to Italy 4 to 5 times a year. Sardegna was one of our favorite places.

However, keep in mind it is very rustic and rural and basically a summer resort area.

Look very carefully before buying in Italy especially in Sicilia and Sargegna. Local laws in Italy are very tricky especially for foreigners.

Have a great time - it will be a visit you will not forget!

Thanks, JeffK.

My husband and I are really looking forward to going there - exactly what we want: peace and quiet. We are thinking of purchasing a holiday home somewhere in Europe (Southern Spain, Cote d'Azur) as a joint venture with my in-laws but are open to other places.

Also going to visit Cape Town, South Africa to entertain the thought of rental property out there but am extremely hesitant with the political climate. Will have a better idea when I get there (in a few months).
