HUH!? There have been GB for Sams Unit, when it first came out.

I am looking for info on the set-up that allows you to play Television or DVD movies on the in-dash navi screen in an 02.

If I remember, it involved some kind of converter, a receiver for the TV broadcast and a new DVD unit ... some were mounting them under the carpet on the passenger side, etc...

It was a topic of great discussion, many pages of info and pictures of installs, etc...

Not looking (for now) for info on a ceiling mount unit.

Thanks for the reply.

My apologies...

I thought you were referring to an aftermarket overhead unit from Sam's Club

I'm a bit of a later comer on this issue. So how do you get in touch with Sam to see what he has to offer?

UPdate: Nevermind. Just saw the link a few down.

Thanks for all the help Alex.

If anyone needs any more info, please feel free to email or call me.

Also, we have successfully mounted the tv tuner unit on top of the stock navigation unit by modifying the brackets and moving the stock navi unit down as far as possible. This allowed full range of motion for the power seat. We also hide all the tv antennas so that the install is completely stealth. I will try to post pics of the install as time permits.

Modifying what brackets? (Nav unit or tuner?)

Please post some pictures of this! If what you are saying is true, that would be the ideal location.

Got my unit in as promised and on time. Thanks a lot Danny.

I fiddled around for weeks and just got it installed yesterday. It works great! I am very pleased! I actually watched the news today while waiting for a client who was running late, very cool. :4:

Dan at Rollin' Sound on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville, FL sold me the DVD player and did the system install. It was very clean and stealthy. Main toggle switch back up under the "ashtray", both converter and DVD player infrared "eyes" on the windshield up above and on each side of the rear view mirror mount. DVD player in the dash glove box. Converter unit under the passenger seat on top of the stock nav DVD unit. Both antennas are on the passenger rear side fixed window... not hidden to maximize reception.

This was a *best buy*.

Hey Redrock,

I live in gainesville and I make frequent trips to Jacksonville. I have also wanted to do this exact modification and was wondering if you could let me know how much the dvd and install cost you. Sounds like he did a good job and I wouldn't mind driving out there for a good install. Thank you.

Minsane,

You have a PM.
