So what do I see at the end of my block when returning from a three day business trip?
Huge TV production trailers and about 150 members of the cast and crew of The Sopranos. They used a local ........... as their gathering point while filming a four day shoot. Took over 145 rooms at a Holiday Inn across the river. We don't see many huge production trailers and TV stars in town.
The shoot involved an Apple Orchard. That's all I'm gonna tell ya. Except that a local young girl stalked Christopher until he signed an autograph.
It should be either Episode 10 (or maybe it was 12?): "Cold Cuts".
Woke up this mornin.... |

Two days until the 5th season. . . it only took 18 months between series. Jeez.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. It looks like Steve Buscemi is part of the crew. I wonder who gets whacked this season.
I'd guess Adriana or Chris. |

My Tivo is programmed and ready to go, I can't wait.
My guess is Adriana will get wacked.
I hear it will start out with a bang, with a lot of "da guys gettin' out a da joint" ready to reclaim their territory...:2: |

...was kindaofa dull season opener after waiting 18 months, what do you think?
There big ass black bears in NJ? |
|

| yeah, the black bear was a ridiculous plot line... and they left me confused about all those new characters. |

| It was a weird opener for sure. I'm sure it will heat up soon. I like the story line of the 'boys' getting out of prision.... A lot of potential ... |

I agree with you, hopefully they're just laying the foundation for a kick-ass season! I heard they used a body double for Lorraine Braco's nude scene. Would like to know who it was :4: |

Now that's kinda twisted - wouldn't you rather see Meadow in a nice bikini or thong lingerie ?!? BADA BING !!! |

I thought it was symbolic for Tony still creating turmoil in their lives. In fact, I believe Tony has been described as like a big bear or a big teddy bear in past episodes.
After putting up with last season and the sloooow pace, I thought we deserved a more exciting opener this season. |

| An interesting segue is where Christopher maims the waiter then Paulie busts a cap in him to finish him off - Tony always maintains that his crew only kills other mobsters or people involved in da business and not innocent ordinary people . . . |

Good point. I'd suppose one could rationalize that the 'wack' was attributed to the waiter being a pain in the ass, and really was asking for it... |

On the set by co-stars, not in the show. |

One out of two.
I hardly think this season "kicks ass"
More like "sucks ass"
Killing a waiter for complaining about a tip, and Tony sweet talking his therapist are just two examples of how rediculious this show has become. And to think the writers had two rears to think this up!
I agree about Deadwood, however. |

One of the worst episodes of an otherwise horrible Sopranos season. |

I think I had a combination "Twin Peaks"/ "Sixth Sense" flashback during that last episode.
I see dead people.
Very weird indeed. |

| Feels like the writers wanted to incorporate a "6 feet under" feel. It doesn't work for the Sopranos, IMHO. |

| It's time for The Soprano's to swim with the fishes, this season is so bad it's starting to tarnish the first 2 seasons. If the Mr Chase is going to ruin it then he should just end it. |

| I think he only wanted to do the first season anyway. Then they "showed him the money" and now we get this.:3: |

Too little too late. Just like last season we get weeks of side stories and little action only to have things pick up in the last 2 or 3 episodes (Carmella's blow-up at Tony and the bathtub dismemberment). I think they are creatively drained.
I'm enjoying watching Deadwood more than the Sopranos. |

Zafer,
Season, not series. They've got 10 more episodes next year or whenever they start it up again. |

Crmsnidol,
I'm a "24" addict myself. It is probably the best series out there. Bought seasons 1 and 2 just for my collection. |

The Sopranos and Deadwood are the only shows I watch regularly now. With our busy schedules and an almost-5-yr-old, it's tough finding the time to get into a series - even to sit down and watch on DVD.
And I don't have TIVo. :( |

I noticed an odd thing about Sopranos last night. Three weeks ago, HBO previews commercials for Sopranos said "only three more episodes...EVER." In the last two weeks, they've said nothing like that again. Now, last night I noticed the previews for next week simply called next week's version the "Season Finale."
Hmmm... guess they might do another season after all. |

| So does this mean no war between NY and NJ. . . and Johnny Sac is out of next season?! |
|
|
| theXman |
| I guess so. I was a bit surprised to see how this season ended with the FBI busting the Johnny Sack/NY family. There wasn't much about it until the end. And how funny to see Tony walking all the way home from NY in freezing cold temp with wet shoes. |
|
|
| Maik |
In my opinion, a very weak ending to a very weak season.
FBI busting Sack, with Tony walking away was stupid at best. A quick end to that fued, and Tony out walking the FBI? gimme a break.
His getting inspiration by looking at the painting in the trash was also a bit much as was his wife complaining about his wet shoes upon his return home at the end. All is well in Sopranoland.
AJ's party was useless to the storyline and Tony skippimg dinner with his men so he could sit home with a bowl of ice cream watching the History channel???
Needless to say, I wont be waiting so eagerly for the return in what, 3 years? |

The Johnny Sack arrest was a lame way to end an otherwise better episode (by this years standards). It make me wonder however--what if Tony waited a couple of days to whack his cousin? With Johnny Sack, Phil and Co. in jail, would he still need to do the deed? It was interesting how Tony's session with Dr. Melfi, cleared his emotions (guilt) about his cousin thus allowing him to think objectively, which led him to whack his childhood pal.
The best show of the year was the Adriana whacking. Fine piece of acting by Drea de Matteo and her final scene was carried out without sentimentality or emotion in business-like manner, with a just the right amount of contempt. She represented a good soul in a nest of bad ones. Throughout the season, the question was whether she'll save others (namely Christopher) or will be done in by her naivety. Although the latter was a sure bet, she made it an interesting trip along the way. I will miss her character.
