Flame suit on
It is obvious that the ACC is the top basketball conference this year, and Duke is the cream of the top. I believe they will the NCAA tournament (again!).

| I agree the conference is by far the strongest. Hopefully the bracket will work out so that most of the teams don't face each other early and can stack the sweet 16. |

KenF-
That would be sweet, to coin a phrase. How about an entire final four from the ACC? Well, that won't happen, but it is a tough conference this year. They will be all be happy not to have to play each other for awhile. |

| Duke was just outplayed by Maryland in the ACC final. But, that is just the nature of the ACC. A tough, tough conference. Congratulations, Terrapins. |

I dont know about that and I agree that MD outplayed them. There are some strong teams in other conferences that could give Duke a run for their money. However, Duke is a great team who year after year always seems to dominate the NCAA mens basketball. I'm always hopeful for U-Conn and as long as eveyone comes to play as a team, I think U-Conn could do well.
I guess well find out in a few weeks. |

| I agree that there are maybe 10-15 teams out there, who, on any given night, can beat any of the others. When healthy and interested in playing, UConn is terrific. What I really meant by my first post is that several major conference, certainly Big 10 and Pac 10, maybe SEC, aren't very strong this year, whereas ACC is even stronger than normal. |

I agree that the Pac-10 top to bottom isn't that strong this year, but I expect our 3 representatives (Stanford, Washington and Arizona) to make some noise in the tourney. Washington played NC State at home pretty tough a few weeks ago. And that's from a team that started out 0-5 in "soft" conference play.
Of course I might be a little biased being U-dub alumni. :D
And I'm also excited because the state of Washington actually has 3 teams in the tourney this year: U-dub, Eastern Wash. and Gonzaga. Stuff like that doesn't happen too often up here. |

I wasn't trying to pan the PAC-10 - as a Stanford alum, I have followed events out there somewhat closely. But most conferences have terrific teams at the top. But this the ACC had 8 out of 9 teams with a legitimate shot at an NCAA berth right up until they were knocked out of the ACC tournament, and 6 of 9 got in.
Well, in a few weeks we will know the answers to all the questions we now have.
Oh, I have been a Gonzaga fan from afar for some years. They put their hearts into every game. |

I'm with jswift, if Okafer is healthy, I'm picking UConn to win it all. |

Don't hate, just apricate.
P.S.-I was heading for 13-3 with my final four intact, in the sweet sixteen in my bracket until UAB shot me down. I had GT but no MSU and absolutely not Texas Tech. |

Mgtr,
I like the way you think!
I like my Blue Devils' chances to win it all. I am psyched they are playing in Atlanta, and I will (hopefully) be attending the games!
Go DUKE!!!!!!!!!!

| I've got Okie State and Xavier in the finals. Got to be a little different to have a chance to win a pick 'em bracket. I have the Cowboys winning it all! (Unfortunately my Longhorns may bow out sooner than I want.) |

I too had GT in the Sweet 16; I did not pick Memphis to beat Ok State (but I did think the game would be closer). I also picked TT because I thought St. Joe's was over-rated (I still do, TT could have had that game). |

Yes, TT could have won against the Hawks, but they didn't. The better team won!
Here's hoping the Hawks will knock Wake out tonight and move on to the Elite Eight. It should be a battle with the two best PG's battling against each other. |

| I was on a gambling ship yesterday, and in their sports book they had Duke -7 vs. Illinois. I kept my money in my pocket. I still like Duke to win it all, but it may be tough going against the Illini. |

| Duke will lose and with the big K being upset by UAC, I have to say UConn has a chance to take the championship. |

| I thought the OSU-St. Joseph's game last night was one of the best all season. Too bad one team had to lose. |

| I think both Tech and Duke were lucky to escape from Sunday with their lives! Both games went down to the wire. But, a win is a win is a win. |

Both had key players injured. For all practical purposes Elder did not play and Duhon was not 100%. As I stated above for to GT to win w/o Elder was impressive. Hopefully both will be back to full strenght by game time.
GT is a young team (one senior in the rotation - Marvin Lewis); they have won impressively all year long, including U Conn in the NIT and Duke at Cameron Indoor Arena!
Just think if Chris Bosch had NOT entered the NBA draft (4th pick overall) |

| Congrats to UConn, who proved they were the best team when all the chips were on the table. They didn't look great against Duke (neither team did), but they sure looked liked champs against Ga Tech. |
