| Aftermarket lumbar support

My wife *hates* the lumbar support on her new MDX. She says it hits her back too low and it doesn't provide enough support. I'm thinking of taking it in to an auto upholstery shop and letting them at it. I'm considering two alternatives:
1) Installation of an aftermarket bladder type lumbar support (like this - http://www.schukra.net/products/model_l_big.htm - they OEM to honda...)
2) Trying to relocate and add padding to the lever activated lumbar support.
Has anyone done either of these options?
Does anyone know how to deactivate the side airbags so the upholstery shops don't hurt themselves?
