We have a 92' Accord 2-dr EX Coupe Automatic with 171,000 miles. The check engine light came on the other day. Flashes code 13 (Atmospheric Pressure Sensor). According to the manual and the tech at the local dealership that you have to replace the entire ECU because the sensor is built into it. At the dealer it runds a hefty price of $970.00. I found one new for $720.00. Still that is pretty expensive. Have any of you had delaings with this code? What are your thoughts? And with this sensor being out it causes the car in 3rd gear once above 51mph to have a terrrible stumble.

Thank you,

Jason

I am sorry........I should have posted that I already knew what the code was. I was just kind of looking for maybe someone who might have experienced this or hopefully had another answer that would be an easier fix. Or maybe get the ECU for a descent price. Thanks again.

Thanks again. I did follow the ECU reset procedure in the Service manual page 11-19 I believe. If I remember correctly it stated to pull the 7.5 amp fuse and leave it out for 10 seconds then put it back in and start the car. But it did not work. In that link you gave me some of those guys sure were going through some long reset procedures. Not sure though if that pertains to my car or not.

Have you got opinions from others too, like an independent mechanic? Some good ones can get good deals on parts and will not try to rip you on cost.
Of course, once it's determined to definitely be the ECU you can shop yourself.

Don't know if I would trust ebay, but.....

Good luck in any case, sorry I could not help more.

Dale..........Not sure how savvy you are on these cars, but were the 1990 hondas naturally aspirated or fuel injected? The reason I am asking is that there is an ecu on e-bay and the description states it is for 1990-93 hondas. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2466893649

lol...........sorry I see you posted that ............got my posts mixed up

You have fuel injection, right? Yes, that will certainly make a difference as to which ECU is selected.
If you do some searches on the internet you will find suppliers of used, rebuilt, and new ECUs. They will generally tell you which vehicle they are intended for with associated part numbers, etc.
