My 04 is perfect with the exception of a high pitch whistle that resonates from the moon roof area during speeds greater than 40 MPH while it is in the closed position. You cannot hear it while the moon is opened and you cannot hear it at all when the X is wet. The X I test-drove did not have this characteristic. I scrutinized the quieter X, paying special attention to wind noise while traveling at highway speeds.
The dealer has had it for the past three days. They have sealed and taped all of the windows, one at a time in failed attempts to isolate the problem. They have removed the rack and have replaced the rack. Still no luck!:3:
Acura has hired some specialist to come take a look at it.
The forum abounds with similar stories that point to the rack as being the culprit. With the rack being ruled out, has anyone had a similar experience? |

| I noticed wind noise emanating from the sunroof which was subdued by closing the sunshade. Still, there is noise from the rear quarters. I attribute them to be present thanks to a very quiet interior to start with. It would be interesting to know if there is something else than can be done. |

I turned in the crappy dodge loaner truck for a 04 TL yesterday. The service department had my X taken to some wind-tunnel facility where they discovered that the annoying whistle was coming from the moon-roof drain. The X should be ready for pick up by COB.
I feel cheated! It would have been nice to test-drive the TL a little longer. Very nice! |

| The X has come back home. I must say that I’m very happy to have her. The annoying high pitch whistle is better, that being, instead of a high pitch at >=40 MPH, you can hear a faint, not so bothersome noise at >=65 MPH. |
