Interior Rear loud flapping Sound - Click HERE for Original Thread

After driving my new MDX Touring Navi for one week I have this annoying loud clumping sound that appears to come from the back interior of the car.

It doesn't occur all the time but it happened a # of times today while the car was at rest as soon as I quickly turned off the ignition one loud flapping sound. I restarted the engine and once again as soon as I turned it off quickly I reproduced this same sound.

Any suggestions as to what this might be?

It's not the seat belts, buckles or rear headrests in compartment. I now see that it happens with the rear seats up or down.
Thanks for you help.

PS what is the small rubber stopper for on the lower center of the interior tailgate. I pushed it in and see somesilver lever but can't figure out what purpose it has.
This might be a good one for Tim's contest (solve the mystery noise/rattle/vibration). My guess(es) since you've eliminated seat belts and headrests:

- jack cover is loose. driver side rear, behind the wheel well

- loose muffler
Could it be the fuel sloshing around in the fuel tank. I notice it when the radio is off as I come to a stop. I have my first service coming up, so I am trying to find any noises. More importantly, if I find anything I have to make sure it is repeatable.
