Experienced same navi talk button problem as others on 2004 MDX at 300 miles. Reported as intermitent problem to dealer and was able to demonstrate problem to them (affects the back button too). Turning off the engine and restarting usually cleared the problem. The dealer's 1st attempt was to replace the buttons ... problem not resolved. The dealer has now told me that the navi must complete boot up (including the map being displayed) before shifting out of Park. Apparently there is some interaction between the navi talk/back buttons and shifting through reverse. They got this information from Acura Technical Support.
Next problem for them is the engine whistle between 35 & 45 mph |

We just purchased our MDX and have experienced the same problem at only 500 miles. When we push the Talk button the radio does not turn off and the Navigation system doesn't receive the voice command. This is an intermittant problem.
Additional related problems: the Navigation system turns on feature selections that we did not select, e.g., various icons are turned on for display on the Map without us selecting it. The voice direction rapidly repeats itself, e.g., make slight right turn, make sligh right turn, make slight right turn.
Acura dealer told us we need to call Alpine to obtain a software patch. We'll let you know. |

My MDX is two days old and i noticed that the NAVI talk button on the steering wheel malfunction, i.e., don't work some times. Turning the car off and on again fixes the problem. It is irritating! I am wondering if anyone out there had this problem and got it fixed.
