Hi Friends,

Got got my MDX (redrock) last evening..I really need help.

I screwed up big time with the exterior of my Honda Accord 2001. The white color in 2 years looks as if it is tanned and a close look shows minute scratches all over...May be i tried wiping the dust over the paint again and again to make it happen! And because of the long distance drives, the small instects that crach ontothe front side/fender and die have un removable stains.

I have promised to take care of this one (MDX) !

Please, please do suggest me how do I take care of the exterior...

For example, for a daily clean..what cloth etc should I use.

After a rain, whats the best way to wipe it clean ?

Profession cleaning/washes? Those still leave water droplets..how do we get that set ?

Once again, please do help! I know you guys are PROS!!

Thanks a ton!

Search on all the threads related to cleaning and detailing. That will keep you busy for quite a while.

Hand washing is always preferred over a drive through car wash. There are some 'touchless' washes that actually do a fair job, and are good for the occasional wash during those cold winter months. But you have to be very selective of which you choose.

No reason to be dusting and/or wiping the finish with coths, etc.

At the most, use the California Duster brush on a recently washed surface. Use it sparingly. Don't use it for anything but for a light dusting. But it would be the only thing I would use for a 'daily clean', if anything at all.

Best not to be wiping down a dirty car at all unless it is during the process of washing it.

Read the threads on recommended wash detergents, polishes, and waxes.

There has been some success using the Mr. Clean Autodry car wash, which filters the water and virtually eliminates spotting.
Pick it up at an auto parts store, or Target, etc.

Others have mixed distilled or soft water in the washing routine to accomplish the same thing. Or if you are doing a light polish following the wash, or detailer spray, etc., those tend to remove any spotting left from the final rinse.
