I'd like to purchase a gas pressure washer for cleaning the driveway, sidewalk, and decks.
I was really interested in the $299 Karcher that Costco sells but there are quite a few complaints about them on both Amazon.com and Epinions.com. Bad company support, poor quality, etc. The Honda engine is fine but the rest of the unit seems problematic. Some folks are happy with them, though.
Home Depot used to sell Generacs but now sells "Excells." They seem to be DeVilbiss units with Honda engines. They've got some promos out on the $417 model now.
I've read that Home Depot is a good place to buy them because they're usually pretty good at taking back problematic units (while I've heard the same about Costco, I wonder if it'll be as long term).
I also wonder if the Sears models are any good.
Anyone have information about what units are really well-made and perform well?
Thanks in advance! |

I think that the units my local rental shop has are top notch. I've used 'em to prep before painting my garage, sealing my deck, and getting the tree crud off the fence at my old house. Didn't make for me to buy.
I these are the units that the rental place owns : http://www.tuff-pw.com/docs/pdf/dc_product_sheet.pdf
Those pumps are key -- and way way more expensive than anything made in China :( |
