Did some searching, but couldn't find anything in the TSB section. It does exist, found it somewhere, but forget where. MDX goes in Tuesday for an appointment to find the leak.

Here's the title - anyone seen it?

03-018 JUN 03 Body - Water Leaks From Corners of Moonroof

TSB ? That ought to be a recall. I was just noticing that my left front corner is higher than the right. That have anything to do with it ?

Well, recalls are for safety issues - while annoying, it's not going to kill anyone.

Mine sits perfectly, from what I can tell.

Is anybody experiencing water leaks from thie moonroof? What year MDX do you have? Where is the water going? Lets provide some information to help others out?

I don't believe I'm experiencing this problem with my 2004, but I may not have noticed it. Will check during the next wash/rain.

Oh, trust me, you would notice it! Take a corner and you get wet!

7 weeks old now, happened the first week I had it. Thought maybe I did something dumb, and cleaned it up. Didn't do it for the next 5 weeks, until yesterday.

The first time it happened, I could see water dripping down into the channel that runs along the moonroof. Was dripping from around the passenger front corner. The channel was filled to the top with water. So, I check my water ducts; squirted some water in both and it emptied out no problem.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that I park my X on my slopped driveway. When nose in, the front of the car is higher than the back, and since the drains are in the front. . . But still, I've had other cars parked in the driveway with rain and a moonroof and never had this.

2004 MDX - there have been a few other threads regarding this, but nothing major. It goes in on Tuesday for them to mess up.

Yep. That could be safety. Depending on how it's entering, enough water coming from a flat area of the car in a deluge and you'd have some potential visibility issues, possibly causing the loss of control. Right under the glass are hundreds of electrical connections. The chassis could lose power (lights, etc.) and the vehicle could stall/possible loss of control. What about water entering any of the airbag systems ? Just think of the fun if temps dropped below freezing. I'd be pretty mad if I were you.

Mitsubishi had this recall last year:

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc.
Models: Mitsubishi Outlander Year: 2003
Number Potentially Involved: 43,649
Dates of Manufacture: August 2002 – April 2003
Defect: On certain sport utility vehicles, water could enter the front floorboard area from openings in the side sill or upper dash area. This water could collect under the seat and cause electrical corrosion to occur in the harness connectors that contain the wiring for the seatbelt pre-tensioner, side air bag impact sensor, and stop lamps. Electrical corrosion of the harness could cause the seat belt pre-tensioner to malfunction, the side air bag not to deploy and/or the brake lamps not to illuminate or to falsely illuminate.

Well, I must admit, you are correct. It's not enough water to cause problems, YET, just to get you wet. But you are right.

And I never said I wasn't mad - I never expected to pay $40k for a new car and have it leak water! But I'm going to let Acura try to make it right before I get too upset. We'll go from there, just wanted to be armed with some info when I get to the dealer.

Anything visible regarding the roof ? I tried to take a picture of my higher corner, but it's too minimal to see in a picture. Mine was manufactured sometime in March.

Everything seems fine as far as I can tell. Last time I washed it, I taped the hose to the moonroof and let it run for a while - nothing.

Wanted to let everyone know I got the TSB. Here's a link to it:

Looks like the work was performed on my MDX - sloppy job though. I wonder if TOO sloppy. Seems to seal the gap, but. . . Anyone else with a new one see this work done?
