| Life Time oil changes thrown in is amazing for New York, if you don't mind me asking which dealer would do that??? I thought that we had to pay the destination charge? Didn't know they can waive that one? |

| Well, the dealer has to pay the destination charge, but waiving it is just as possible as waiving any other part of the price of the vehicle. They'd waive the assumed cost of the air conditioner or the glove compartment door if it was negotiated right. The dollars are all the same to the dealer. |

Yes, I suppose if they make up the $525 somewheres else they can tell you their waiving it to make it sound better.
Over all though I think I got a good deal - what do you guys think - Should've I haggled a little more? The pickup for the car was quick, I started speaking to the guy on Weds., signed the papers last night and am picking the car up on Saturday.
I got the Oil Changes at Bayshore Acura in LI... I live in Queens so I'm not sure how much I will really use that free offer but even If I use it 1-2 a year I'll be saving some money in the long run. I think that's why they throw it in -because most people are not gonna drive 40 miles for an 20-30 dollar Oil Change. I wonder if they give that same offer to local residents...

At the end of the day, no matter what, they will make the money they need to - either directly or indirectly.
For us, what's important is our happiness and that comes from the deal we made and the vehicle we've adpoted into our family.
Congrats BeenFramed!

A typical negotiation simply involves the selling price of the car. After some amount of haggling a price is arrived at. If the dealer tries to add ANYTHING to the price after that (other than TTL) then they are not playing fair. In my case the $545 was simply "buried" in the negotiated price and was never overtly discussed.
We paid $1433 over invoice and got a good trade-in. Details here: http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...&threadid=15073 |

Did you get Steps or Boards? There is only ONE style Running Boards; however there are three style of Steps including Satin Chrome. |

when i was ordering one, when the market was hot, the salesman waived d/charge since i was contacting him through the internet. other dealers that i just walked in said that they never heard of waving the charge. one dealer was saying that they could match the price. |

Some of the dealers in the SoCal areas also use this trick to have d/charge as additional fee. I got a quote from Thomas Acura in Covina and thought that their price is lower than in the BayArea. But it turns out to be around $100 higher after they added the d/charge and the shipping fee.
Anyway, the dealers that I talked to in the Bayarea told me the d/charge is part of the invoice price. |

Addition to that, some dealer charges processing fee as well (about maybe $250?). i think it might be state dependant since all (never been to all of them though) Virginia state dealers charge processing fee and no Maryland dealer charges it.
and there is finance processing fee (it was around $50)... which i managed to void. i told the financial manager that the salesman told me that no processing fee will be charged. of course the salesman meant just document fee, not financial processing fee.
