I have a 2004 MDX which is only two months old. I have had it into the dealer three times to repair a defective rubber molding just below the window. Where this molding meets the black door post, the rubber is caving in--looks very bad. I am told by the dealer it is a common problem with the MDX. Every MDX I see in South Florida has this problem. I am told it's a design flaw. This problem is not on the Honda Pilot (different design). I called the Acura owner line--took them over a week to return call and did not seem to care. Has anyone else noticed this problem and found a fix? Seems to me that if this is a known probem Acura has a duty to redesign and recall for a fix. I paid a lot of money for this car and feel this is totally unacceptable.

doneill,

I had that same problem with my 03 on both the driver and front passenger side about 4 months ago. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the molding. It hasn't caved in since . . . by the way, welcome to the board and good luck with the molding.

Had the problem with my '01 on the driver's side. Replaced under warranty. Could not tell you how it's held up, since I sold it 3 months later!
