I have a 2004 MDX with only 3K miles and I need to sell. My wife wants a smaller vehicle. Boy, does this hurt. Can anyone tell me where I might list this on the Web based on past success? Thanks.

Be prepared to take a bath.

No offense, but it is going to be really hard to sell an MDX right now. This is "peak production" time for 04s and there are PLENTY available. The only thing that might help is that West Palm is fairly affluent and you are close enough to Palm Beach & Boca Raton to maybe snag somebody with more money than brains.

I know it might sound "cheesy" but I would try and put up some nice color copies with a BIG picture of your MDX all shined-up. You will get a ton of whacked out calls, but as even some of the really rich do buy their own groceries you might get lucky. To make it super easy go to OfficeMax or someplace and have some 'business card" sized things printed up so that your contact info is right at hand for a couple to discuss with one another. Keep it simple: "Brand New 2004 MDX with deluxe "Touring Package" includes DVD Entertainment System, full FACTORY Warranty, SHOWROOM beautiful. SAVE THOUSANDS" and your BUSINESS PHONE and a throw away email address...

You won't find anybody shopping for a a "used" 2004 so you need to target the 'new car buyer" looking for a bargin.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your thoughts.

Either way you go about selling it, be prepared to lose 3-5k easy.

People will be suspiciuos for a 3k car if you give them a nice break, and if you don't give them a break then they'll just buy brand new.

Ebay is probably the only way to go if you need to sell it quickly, but you will take a loss.

You might also want to consider trade-in your car since you're planning to buy another vehicle. You could get 1k - 2k lower than sell-it-yourself, but you can make it up on the new car price from the dealer. This way you can sell your car much faster.

Good luck!!!

I think Cyber is right on the money. In fact, the Acura dealer (if you want a smaller Acura) you bought the car from may even decide to give you a hand in trading out the MDX for another. smaller model.
