Anyone has a home made cargo liner for their car? I need some ideas to make my own cargo liner.

I have a Taffeta white with quarz gray interior and I just got a couple of yards of indoor/outdoor carpeting at the local Home Depot. The carpet has a rubber backing and is an almost exact color match for the OEM gray carpet. I bit of careful measuring, cutting the carpet to the correct shape and voila!, a cargo liner for just a few bucks. It works so well I just leave it in all the time. There was enough carpet left over so I used the factory front floor mats as patterns to cut some extra mats. Whenever I think I'll make a mess, as when I'm trout fishing and have waders on, I have the indoor/outdoor mats in place. The only downside is the carpeting wears quickly where my heel rubs but it only takes a few minutes to cut a new mat if needed.

I have the factory cargo liner and it is pretty nice the way it covers everything from the 2nd row seats back. It fits over the back of the second row and has openings for seat levers, hooks and mesh over the rear skeaker. It covers everything sides too, not just the floor. It uses some sticky backed velcro to attach to certain areas. I just put them there when I need it, like this weekend I have a camping trip with my 8 year old. The back will be covered and protected.

It would be difficult to make one that fits as good as the factory one. The material itself is just a heavy nylon and actually folds up into a little bag.
