After months of research, I finally decided on the 04 MDX. I'm very pleased with most features like auto sensing wippers, memory seats with remote, tilt down rear mirror when in Reverse ect... but I'm a little disappointed in the audio system and the fake woodgrain interior. Acura.com describes the audio system as " It's like having seven seats in the orchestra pit at Carnegie Hall", but yet the sound quality is below what you would expect from a $40,000 luxury vehicle. Also I would rather have brushed aluminum than that horrible plastic woodgrain which is the same as the one in my co-worker's Hunday Sonata. Don't get wrong though, I love my new X and I think it is still a great value.
I will post pics this weekend. |

You may have already seen other threads that contain the same sentiments re the audio system...definitely a consensus on that issue! |

Congrats on the X - Let see some pics as soon as you get it..
I'm not sure I don't think I've ever owned a car with a really really good system in it so from my standards the audio sounds just fine.. It pumps pretty loud..
Funny for the first few days I had mx X, I had the rear speakers turned off and didnt even notice a thing wrong with the sound. Once I found that white button for the rear speakers and powered them on -- Huge difference....
ANyways congrats...

| There's a little White - Kind of Clear Button next to the Audio Tuners that turns the Rear Power on/off - In case the kids are back there watching a DVD..... |

Gladiator,
You won't have one unless you have the RES option. Which it looks like you don't.:D
edit: As you have figured out... |

Let me add my congrats to you too Gladster! I just got my X on Monday. :D It's my first SUV and I haven't had a truck before either so I'm getting used to the height. It feels longer than my Grand Prix but it's not - so I now have a little more room in the garage.
Like me, I suspect you'll be trolling the forum looking for detailing information - I too have a NBP X. Was just reading an interesting thread about a comparison between NXT and Zaino.
Thanks for the pic - I should have pix of mine up soon.
Enjoy. :2: |

I just get my MDX last night. This was so unexpected. We plan to do this 3-4 weeks from today, but when I call Keyes Acura in Van Nuys and get price quote $38,600 over invoice (Acura 101 West asking for $39,700), my wife decided go down and check what can we do. Of couse they added running boards and wheels locks, witch add additional $800+ to price. After1 hr very professional conversation (if you can call this conversation) we get to $39,100. I know that some people will say that they have better deal. Congratulation to you. I get my and I am comfortable with this. Thank you all for your help. These boards teach me a lot and now I can call me a Full member of AcuraMDX.org. Would I recommend Keyes Acura? – Highly recommended! Would I recommend my salesman and floor manager? – Yes, I do. They was very sharp and this was my best experience to buy new car. If any one need names – e-mail to me and I will be happy to provide them to you.
P.S. We was in a lot and Keyes Acura had about 20+ MDX in stock.

| Gladiator. What dealership did you get your Acura from. I was quoted $459 month, 48 months, 15K miles a year, with 1300 total down at signing from Wayne Acura. Let me know, maybe I can save a few bucks. Thanks. |

after two monthes of shopping and six hours of negotiating, i finally got my mdx at midnight last night. very tired, but felt like i got a good deal. lemme know what you guys think.
white with quartz interior (had to wait for this combination) with the touring and nav. only accessory is the wheel locks which i didn't really want, but they wouldn't take em off. kinda pricey at $90, but they didn't charge me for em.
total price $37934. that includes an extra key i really wanted, and almost walked out the door because of. it's a small thing but i figure it saves me the $80 to buy it and having it coded.
so far, so good. only driven it 13 miles today. and with all the shopping and test driving i had done before pulling the trigger, i'm already used to the ride, so no surprises there.
i'm glad i found this forum. the maxima forum has been a lifesaver at times with my other car. hope to be on the board often.
now i gotta get crackin on the subwoofer replacement. :D |

Congrat vqdriver on your new X. I change the subwoofer on my X also. I must say, it made very little difference. There is not enough room in the back of the subwoofer for it to perform well and the amp that drives it is under powered. In order to get good result, you would need to buy a external box and add an amplifer to the subwoofer. I got much more bang for the buck when I change the door speakers, it made a world of difference.
Good luck |
