I plan first long trip from LA to San Francisco on Memorial day and really nead advice on nose mask
How easy to attach or remove mask? How effective mask? Can I use mask just for long trip?

Only used mine once - on a trip from L. A. to Las Vegas. Wished I used it another time when I drove from up to Yosemite National Park and the front of my X was covered with dead bugs. Plan to use it every time I'm on a trip. Somewhat difficult to put on the first time but others have talked about using a hair dyer to help soften the material when first applying.

Thank You. Do you happen to remember link to this discation?

I leave mine on "all" the time, unless it's Sunday and show off time, otherwise, it stays on. Yes even when I wash it. Make sure to have WAXED the front end VERY WELL.
It is a PITA to remove !
Good luck !

I recently made the drive from Fairfield, CA to Disneyland and back. I drove 90+ miles per hour when traffic allowed.

Before I departed Fairfield, I put 2 nice coats of Mother's carnauba wax on the MDX. When I arrived in SoCal, I was suprissed by all the bugs on my ride, but I didn't wash it while I was down there.

When I arrived home, of course the bug count about doubled. I washed the X as the sun was going down that night. I did not have a hard time at all getting those bugs off.

I guess the point is, a nose mask may not be worth the effort to install/remove and the price to purchase. I will say this though....A nose mask will help with chips. You have to weigh your options.

Try Search Titles Only with "bra". (You'll find something completely different if you search for "thong")

I am planning a driving trip next week and was thinking of using saran wrap for the 6+ hour drive on the Interstate.

Might not help with rocks but I thought it would help with bugs...

Anybody every try this?

FYI if interested in a good Bug&Tar cleaner , try this -Bug & Tar Remover. There might be better ones. I've used none but will order one soon.

Yes, those damn tiny rock pieces are very hurting....One hit my rear side (car's rear side!) below the glass and i see a tiny dent (1/10 of a cm) with the paint chipped off to.

Dark colors are difficult to maintain. Envy the lighter colo owners :(

Fellas:
Lot's of ZAINO and you will be fine. I'll go a couple of weeks without it (bra/mask what eva) and bugs wash right off, because I've got 25 plus coats of Z5 and Z7 ! LMAO...... :2: :1:

I leave my front hood deflector on at all times, but I do use the nose mask on long drives, from here to L.A. and back, Bay Area and back, central coast and back, anywhere beyond a 3 hour drive actually. IMHO the nose mask is a money-well-spent paint-chip saver, and an effective bug-guard as well. While your'e putting it on and then taking it off, keep saying to yourself "I'm doing this to protect my car."
However, I do need to get some mirror covers for those road trips as they get creamed by the wee buggars as well.

I just installed clear bra from Secondary Exposure, Inc

I had them cover the hood, the front and back bumper, the mirrors and the door edges. I think is money well spend. I remember my car of 10 years and how scratched up the bumper is on that car;)
Fabvsix
Maddy,
Please do us curious folks a favor and tell us what you paid for this effort ? ? ?
maddy99
I paid $750. Expensive but I think is worth it in the long run.

Zaino is a lot cheaper !

Zaino can't protect scratch and chips!

Too bad. I found the post Clear Bra one day too late. I order the full nose ski mask and the running board which would enable some short skirt driver drive my baby. Clear Bra with short skirt. What a great combo. :7:

Hehe... True 'dat.

By the way, make sure, if you get a clear bra, that its a good one. I had a miserable experience with one on my S70...

Make sure you're happy, they can be really hard to get off!

Just my experience though, so far, I seem to be the only one on the board that doesn't like them!

Agree BWSmith...get a good one. I always go to a place that uses the 3M stuff that is guaranteed protection! See some other posts on getting coverage! :4:

I just got the nose mask from Tim and install it at once while my wife went to bed. The black mask is easy to install. Just wish the MDX logo painted white.
I don't know if I could leave it on all the time or not? Because moisture may make a bad film on the paint.

If there is a reason for there to be moisture, then of course remove it. Remove it when you wash the car. It is easier to clean and treat the vinyl when it is nice and tight, and ON the car.
Be sure to vacuum it well inside where it touches the paint to get rid of any debris before putting it back on the car.
If the weather is warm, and you wash your X every week or two, you will be taking it off. That should work out fine all summer.

Thanks, DaleB!
A U neighbor with GreatScot?
If I'm zainoed then how often should I wash the car?
