Morel hunters? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Have any of you MDXer's out there been hunting for morels? This should be about the height of the season.

I've had this idea - if you have a good morel site, you can use your MDX to find the lat/long of the site, then you could send the coordinates to me! This would be a good way to share your find. ;)

Anyway, you can post your morel reports or tall tales here. I've not seen any yet, but haven't spent much time looking...
ghost,
You need to come to Chicago again. I believe the town of either Berwyn or Cicero has a Hobi (Czech for mushroom?) festival every summer. I am sure there would be some morels on display along with many other types of mushrooms. A sax player I used play with 20 years ago always had a bag of psilocybin mushrooms at the gig to help him hit the high (pun intended) notes.
Sounds good - my grandpa, who was Czech, really knew his wild mushrooms, except all his names for them were also in Czech. There's a great festival going on right about now in Mesic, MI, near Traverse City, they bill themselves as the 'morel capital of the world'.

The psilocybes are another story - there's a great quote in one of my mushroom books from a woman who got into a bit too much of the Big Japanese Laughing Mushroom, something to the effect of "if there were how someone died of mushroom poisoning, she was all for it..."
