Hey, Guys!
I am thinking to purchase hard drive MP3 player: IPod (20GB) or Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB MP3 Player. Is any one use MP3 player in their MDX?
Any recommendation?

I use the Zen in my MDX with a Blitzsafe adapter and am thrilled with the result.

I read your post right after I post my thread. Excellent documentation, man. I just have few questions: 1. can you play regular CD and how you select between CD and iPOD. 2. And another one (to my shame) - I am not a very handy man, I afraid, that I can do more damage to my one week old MD, that goods. Should I go to Car-Audio shop for this installation?

To rvehock
Can you tell me more about FM modulator?

Hi inemer:
My experience is with a 2003 Touring/Navi/no RES. I don't think the 2004's should have changed anything, but I haven't tried it out myself, either. With that said:
1) Yes, I can play regular CDs. Pressing the "CD" button on my headunit simply toggles back and forth between my regular CD changer and my Blitzsafe auxilary input.
2) That's a tough question to answer as everyone is different. I guess it's up to you and whatever you're comfortable with . . . personally, I'd do it again by myself because I didn't think it was too difficult with 20/20 hindsight. I do confess, however, that it was pretty intimidating to see my MDX dashboard taken apart when I was halfway through! (Yes, Mrs. Wazowski was shaking her head!) Don't worry, though, it is doable and everything just snaps back together! (Plus, you have my step-by-step instructions! ;)) However, I also don't think anyone would fault you if you decided to have a Car-Audio shop do the installation. Your MDX is a very nice $40K+ ride, so if you're not into taking things apart and putting them back together, hire someone to do it! The one thing that is certain is that you will really enjoy having the iPod in the MDX!
Good luck!

I have an IRIVER-IHP120 and I looooooooove it. I think it's better than the I-POD with the fact that it records and the firmware is upgradeable. IRiver is putting out a quality product that they are committed to updating.

I also own an Iriver player and love it.... mp3 encoder, FM radio and voice recorder makes it better than the Ipod.

I have the nomad zen xtra 40 gig and it works great. I am using it in my TSX mostly through an aux in adapter.

I have used it in our mdx with an fm transmitter and it is horrible. There are so many radio stations in Southern LA that I was constantly changing the channel on the transmitter.

If you can afford it I would have an aux in professionally installed. I have my mp3 player installed in the arm rest in my tsx just like black-bling and I plan on installing it on a panavise mount on the dash so I can see what is playing and change songs easier.

For a professional installation in the San Fernando Valley visit Sounds Good. They are top-notch and have never had any problems. They will go out of their way to make you happy.

stilling using the 4 1/2 year old 10GIG iPod, still working great with about 1500 songs on it.

BTW iPod can recored voice too, and store pictures datas etc. It works as a HD which can be connected via firewire cable and no need of another power source!
