Was just wondering if some of the members in this forum have been following the Survivor All Star TV show?

I realize it was a game and somewhat agree that deception is needed as a game strategy. There were times though that I thought Boston Rob's "off game TV comments" were truly mean spirited (i.e.) when he called Big Tom and his son stupid and basically a bunch of "hicks." For those watching, anyone truly believe those were truly terms of "endearment" as he argued at the reunion?

I'd like to get your overall comments on the show and how people played the game.

Yeah, I thought that Rob was pretty meanspirited. It got him to the end but lost him the prize. Well, I guess he outsmarted all of them in the end since he got the girl and 1/2 the prize.:D

I couldn't believe that he wasn't voted out earlier on. He won immunity so many times, but on the few occasions that he was vulnerable, why didn't the rest of them gang up on him and vote him out? Or vote Amber out when he had immunity? Everyone thought he was taking them with him, but really they were just pawns to get himself and Amber there. How many times do you have to see someone betray everyone else before you realize that next time it could be you?

I really wanted Rupert to win, and was very disappointed in Jenna voting against him in the final four. I understand her wanting to protect her own interests but she really didn't think it through. If she and Rupert voted for Rob, and Rob and Amber voted for Rupert it would come down to a tie. If they broke the tie with the colored stones, she would still be in the final three, and she had a 50/50 chance of going there with Rupert vs Rob. Rupert for sure would have brought her into the final two over Amber. The only way she would make the final two with Rob and Amber would be by winning immunity which she didn't. She had nothing to lose by voting against Rob since she wasn't going to make the final two with him anyway.

In theory, she could have won against Rob since he pissed off so many people, but again, she would have had to win immunity to get the chance. If it was Jenna, Rupert and Amber in the final three, and she won immunity, that would have been the time to dump Rupert since she had a chance of winning against Amber and would probably have lost to Rupert. Even if Amber had won immunity, she would have probably taken Jenna thinking she had a better chance against her than Rupert. Since the only reason anyone voted for Amber was because they didn't want Rob to win, Jenna could have actually won the game.

Any way you look at it, she blundered big time.

I concur w/ BigDog's sentiments re: missed strategies. The contestants who complain so much about being deceived made a common mistake. Instead of relying on themselves to get ahead or create their own winning strategy, they oftentimes only aligned themselves with a few folks whom they thought would carry them all the way to the top spots. It was entertaining at times, but also somewhat predictable on who survived to the last few spots.
