Do any 04 owners have this problem?

Okay, I had the 04 MDX for 2 weeks now and just detailed the car last weekend. After 6 hours of waxing and detailing, I rolled down and up the windows and there was water on the inside of the window. This never happened on my 03 MDX! Took it to the dealership and the service department told me there is no fix for it. Dammit!!! I just paid $40K for this car and they can not fix a problem that they know about. So I asked how come my 03 does not have moisture/water when I roll the windows down and up. No answer!?!?

What the hell is Acura thinking?!?!?! I'm planning to call my salesperson and Acura (800-382-2238). We should all complain so they will address the issue!!!:3:

Both my 2001 (now retired) and my 2004 have this "feature."

This problem exists in my MDX and Accord. Guess this happens in almost all cars. You were very lucky with your '03 then.

I've complained about this too on my 2003, and out of all the cars I've owned, including my son's 2001 Honda Civic, none of them have this feature except the MDX.

I complained enough to the dealer that this is not normal, so they reluctantly replaced the inside window track, but to no avail, it's back.

I've learned if you don't roll the window down completely, it won't happen. Although, you shouldn't have to do that. Oh well, my wife doesn't care, but it's annoying to have to clean the front windows more than once a week!

Yes, my 2001 started having this problem about a year after I purchased the X. I have taken the car to the dealer at least five times and they know it is a problem but do not offer any fix for it. I have even had an attorney friend send letters to the dealer and to Acura, with no response. I'm just worried that they will post a "fix" after my warranty runs out.

I had the same problem with my 02. After much nagging at Pohanka Acura, the Service Manager called in the Regional Rep. The Regional Rep. made adjustments to the window felt/brushes that has eliminated 99% of the problem. The only fault to the fix is when the window is part way down, it rattles a little - something I can live with vs. water on the inside. If your Regional Rep./Service Manager cannot help, have them call the Northern Virginia Rep.

Hope this helps.

Both the drivers and front passengers windows leak.
After 4 trips to the dealer, they basically told me to get lost.

My motto is if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself, so I came home, pulled off the door panel, and it was pretty clear what is happening. There is a little space at the front end of the trim that runs along the bottom of the glass on the outside. Water runs down that space and collects at the bottom of the window glass (which is only about 3/4 inch below the top edge of the trim). From there it gets absorbed by the felt inner trim ( which extends about 1/2 inch below bottom edge of the glass ). If there is enough water this inner trim will absorb it all the way back, like a sponge.

I put a little dab of silicon caulk where that space is, and put the door panel back on. That didn't improve the problem at all. :3:

Next I pulled the door panel off again, and ran a piece of duct tape (thats right) an inch wide along the bottom of the glass, extending down 3/4 inch below the bottom edge of the glass (effectively making bottom egge of the glass 3/4 inch lower). The idea is to keep the water running down the outside of the glass from coming in contact with the inner trim.

After putting it back together, preliminary tests showed NO water on the inside of the glass :D. Maybe I can figure out a more permanent solution in the future. If you have any questions, email me at * fernbluffweb at earthlink dot net *.

After my complaining and harassing the sales guy and manger, they fixed the window leak.

They ordered new seal strips and replaced both driver and passenger side window. I could not tell if the work was done because it look like the original seal strips.

I parked the X outside, so it can bathe in the rain. I tested the windows and no water inside or moisture!!!

So complain and get new seal strips for your leaking window!!!

Best of luck!!!
