Yesterday, my MDX was in for the 30,000 service. Most of the dealers in the Boston area charge from $500-600 for this service, and my dealer is right in that range at $580.
I dropped the car off on Tuesday night and took a loaner car home. I gave the service tech a list of what I wanted done. The list was nothing more than a copy of the severe maint schedule from the Acura website. I added a 4 wheel allignment to the list (anyone driving around Boston will understand why!
Yesterday, when I picked up the car, I was presented with a bill for $405. I asked the tech what their 30,000 service included that was not on my list, and his response was "basically nothin".
While I know that this has been discussed before, I thought my real life experience might be helpful to some others. |

Sorta like:
Vendor: Hey, I'll give you a special deal on a baker's dozen = $50.00
Consumer: How much for one?
Vendor: $3.00
Consumer: No thanks on the special deal but I will buy 13 at the qty. 1 price. |

Maik,
I betcha the "dealer package price" included replacing the old, worn, stale air in the tires with fresh air.
Since you didn't get the dealer package, beware, you are driving your X with "old air" in the tires.
