having owned this 2003 mdx so far i have to conclude that it is way below my expectation of Acura.
My concluded experience is that: Acura and Honda only make good sedan cars. They don't have experience in making big car such as SUV and van. |

Just like the rest of us, you're entitled to your opinion. Most of the rest of us think that it's great, though not perfect.
You gonna back up your opinion with some "why's", or just let it hang like you chose to do so far? |

But the MDX is not a true SUV, it is a crossover. You should have done your research before you bought the MDX. You are expecting truck like performance from a crossover, next time do your homework before you laid down 40 big ones. |

with TheRunDown for his mishap.
A new car is not necessarily always a good car. Sometimes, assemblers screw up, parts mix up. A brand new car could have problems. In his case, all happens at once (if true). I rarely see that.
But taking one sample to draw the conclusion for the whole population is committing a stereotyping fallacy.
He could use the lemon law to get a different MDX and hug and kiss it everytime he leaves the garage door to get inside the house and forget about the past nightmare.
Dont' just rant, jump up and down, and wish the problem will go away by itself.

To quote TheRunDown: "MDX is truly a great vehicle." Your quote was made a back in March and was conditional to a fix of the brake clunk and gas slosh issues.
Question: Is the gas slosh and brake click sufficient to downgrade a "truly a great vehicle" to "way below my expectation"?
Perhaps never too late to take your X down to the Kia store for a trade in. Heck, with deep discounts, factory rebates, and college grad discounts, you can get a really good deal on a Kia.
As for the van comment, the Odyssey came in first place in this month's C&D van comparo. The five year old Honda beat brand new offerings from Toyota, Nissan, Chrysler, and Ford. Who is it that makes decent vans, anyway? |

What were your expectations?
What were the problems? |

Gosh until now some people still think that MDX is a great vehicle even though tons of problems that MDX owners are experiencing?.
It's hard for some people to admit that his or her vehicle is having problems.
But Toyota and Lexus do make great SUV. Remember Toyota have made 4Runner more than 10 years ago, where were Acura and Honda SUV? :))))) |

Because they have been made for a decade they're "great"? And because Honda/Acura weren't making SUV's then all of them suck now? Seems we're missing some details or I just fail to comprehend your logic.
Out of curiosity I repeat LL's sentiments:

No car/SUV/van is perfect. Hopefully your venting here gives you some sort of psychological relief. |

yes no car is perfect, but problems are fixable on other brands but MDX.
ex: Does the gas slosh and brake clunk fixable for MDX?. Lots of owners are expressing frustration with MDX quality. Is it true? |

this topic is pointless.
if people continue to post on this topic there will only be more aggravation. |

OK, let's all agree now. There is ONE MDX out there that absolutely positively sucks and we know exactly who owns it. When he goes to sell it, we all know enough not to buy that one.
Thanks to all his negative posts, his particular MDX has now depreciated far below the value of all the rest of ours. |

Yes, no car is perfect and yet you are expecting the MDX to be perfect. There are countless problems on other cars that are not address by the manufacturers as well. I think all problems are fixable, the question is who is going to pay for it. Safety problem such as the firestone tires on explorer, front ball joints on the Durango and going into gear problem of the grand Cherokee were much more serious problem that were not address by the manufacturer until they had to. Therefore, I dont think Acura is the only one who is guilty of this practice, at least the gas slosh and brake clunk problem are not safety issues. If you drive a grand cherokee, you would not be concern with gas slosh and brake clunk noise because there are so many noise coming from everywhere else. |
