There is a slight "imperfection" on the tire wheel rim which I noticed a few days after taking delivery. It is like a very small bubble like a piece of sand under the paint. Question: Is this the type of thing I should ask Acura to replace? Or am I expecting to much in the way of perfection?

I think if I pointed it out when I took delivery, changing it would not be an issue. (And my dealer is out of state, if that matters). I really am not sure what to expect or accept. Thanks.

If you want them to change it out, do it ASAP. If not I feel they be less inclined to do so.

How big is this slight "imperfection"? From the way you describe, it sounds like it's something really small, like a size of a sand grain, in which case, I would not really worry about it. Even if it were a little bigger, overtime, you're going to pick up so many rock chips on your wheels that a small imperfection may not really matter much. If the imperfection seems like it's exposed bare metal, then you might want to have it checked, just so it won't rust with time. I'm sort of a perfectionist myself, but the more you drive your car, things like this really matter much less than it does when you first purchased the car. Just my opinion though...

If the imperfection is small then compare it against the worst case replacement scenario: They order you a new wheel which gets a few scratches/dings in shipping and then the tech who changes the wheel marks up the wheel changing the tire and removing/installing the lug nuts. You could potentially wind up worse........

My rims were scratched when I took delivery. I did not noticed it until my first car wash a week later. I called the sales person and told them about the problem.

The service department said that the scratches came from an automated car wash. I said that was full of b/s and that I just got the car a week ago and just hand washed my car when I found the scratches.

The Sales manger said that he will take care of it. So a wheel specialist buff out the scratches later.

Go back to the dealership and get them to get the car right!!
