One person can do it; I've installed them twice now (on an '01 and an '04).

Did the whole job myself in just over an hour. It was easy, just a whole lot of bolts to tighten. Only advice to lay a blanket or cardboard down to protect the steps as you're lining them up and moving around.

I installed the running boards myself. I assume the side steps wouldn't be much different. First of all, there are six brackets that come in parts and a ton of screws......you can assemble those even inside your house at your leisure. Then I loosely bolted the brackets onto the bottom of the MDX. I was then able to put the running boards on the brackets and get the bolts started to attach them with no difficulty. I'm sure you could do the same with the side steps....then again, they are chrome so extra caution should be used. I assume it has some sort of protective wrap on the chrome but I'd be extra careful. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have an assistant help you hold the side steps on the brackets and you'd be able to proceed a bit faster that way. Good luck!:D |

thanks, i think i'll wait for someone since the steps are not wrapped. don't want to drop a step and scratch 1.

Definitely a two person job. One to install the steps and another to get the beer. :2:
