| David McDavid Acura in Plano wanted over $550 for the 30K service and maintenance on my MDX. Went to Rusty Wallis Honda and discovered they perform the 30K service maintenance on their Honda Pilots for under $300. Same identical service. Faxed the printed service document to David McDavid Acura and got them to match the Rusty Wallis Honda price. However, David McDavid will not provide a rental car after the price match. Question: Is the rental car at David McDavid Acura worth $250 for a half day car rental? No, but you can haggle over their service price. |

Most important is getting the ATF and VTM fluid changed. If you have not changed the ATF earlier, as some of us have.
Yes, I know technically you could go to 45K on the tranny and stay within the warranty. But I wouldn't....
The rest of the maintenance outside of the normal oil change, tire rotation, etc. should be relatively cheap.
Finding a local Honda dealer to do what you need for less is not unusual either. I am sure Honda dealers love corrupting the Acura dealers' customer base.
In any case, there is no reason to exceed what is specifically required in the manual, especially with only 30K miles. Your MDX is still a 'kid'. Caution with dealer's specials. They are more special for them than for you. |
