Hello today i recieved my 6000K h11 kit from xenondepot! thanks steve for answering all my questions. Install was easy with the instructions plus the steps posted on this forum. Output is better in person as the pictures do not do this kit justice. Overall i'm very pleased with the kit! Here are some pictures:

Yowza,
That really shows the hot and cold spots of the halogen projector. Is that cold spot in front in pic number 4 bothersome or do you not even see it when driving? Or are your fog lights on in those pics? |

i didn't really see it driving, the ground was somewhat wet in places where i took the pics, last night i didn't notice too many hot/cold spots, i've only had it on since last night so i'll go back to the same place an take some more pics so I can see if the cold spots are there! |

Steve : initially i thought they weren't as bright on the road, but when i took it out for a test drive right away i could tell it illuminates the road much further, road signs light up far away! the color is really different as well. Actually you can tell the difference as soon as you turn it on! so to answer your questions yes i noticed a big difference! |

before i had installed the kit, i had taped off with a few pieces of duct tape the height of the OEM lights and the distance the MDX was parked, after i installed the kit i lined the MDX back up and the HID beam was in the same spot! So far in 2 night of driving around nobody has been cringing because of the brightness or flashing their brights! I don't think i will be lowereing the height any bit, the stock height shouldn't blind anyone. |

I am sorry I don't get it, did you manually adjust the projection beam lower or you left them as they were, after you installed the HID's. I am getting flashes form other drivers at night, and I have not adjusted the lamps, but in all fairness I have a car that has factory HID's and is much much lower than the X and they still flash me.
Just curious and wanting to be fair to other drivers.
Thanks. |

sorry i wasn't clear! i left them as they were, basically after i installed the hid's they were the same height as before. I didn't change the height. About you getting flashed by other drivers, it's probably just that they think it's too bright, not necessarily because you have the beam set too high, one complaint of HID's (even OEM)is that some people find them too bright when other cars with HID's are coming towards them. |

I just wanted to get another opinion from an MDX owner you have been helpful.
Thank you.
P.S. You know what's really funny is when I get flashed I sometimes flash back to let them know it really is my low beam, an most folks get it and go back to low beam, but some di$#^%heads get even more pissed off. Go figure?? |

04mdxer : glad i could be of help! you know what? those ppl are just jealous of your HID'S and car!!:D
but i know exactly what you mean! some people keep flashing back, that's when sometimes i forget to turn OFF the high beams until they pass! |

| hey guys, last night i had a little bit of a scare, I was coming back from a friends house and noticed only one of my HID'S were on, so when i got home i got out and checked. Driver's side HID was out ( i gotta admit though, the passenger side was still bright enough to illuminate the road properly!) At this point i was a little annoyed that it just stopped working. So i opened up the hood and wiggled the wires to see if they were still connected, then i turned on the lights and they BOTH came on!!!! wierd?!? |

I installed the ballasts behind the foglights (following the awesome instructions posted here).
But i'm still paranoid that i'll spray water in there when i'm washin my MDX! |

Thats really a good idea to high beam them, because your low beam wasn't blinding them enough. You might want to high beam them and use your fog light at the same time so all they wouldnt see after that is white spot for a good minute or two. |

| i have the ballasts installed behind the fogs (in behind the metal part there) as per the instructions here. Is it still safe to bring the MDX through a carwash without worrying about the ballasts getting wet? |

| Aren't the ballast water proof? Most OEM HIDs are. What happens when your car drives over a puddle? |

I had a similar experience and it wound up being a loose ground wire. I would go over all the wires and make sure they are tight and the ground is tight also. One time my ballast was loose and this caused it to blink on hard bumps. |

The ballasts aren't waterproof, but they do sell an enclosure that the ballast goes into, which makes it water-resistant. |

Hey guys, as the headlights are HID and the fogs are stock (halogen?), does the color difference not make the vehicle look a wee bit off balance? Is there fog lamp conversions available also to make all four lights uniform?
thx,

Yes you could buy 2 sets of Hid's if you can afford it or buy an aftermarket set of Halogens which come close to the color of your Hid's. I recently tried the Philips Bluevision which is a close match for my 6000K Hid's. |

I know the fogs and headlights would be different, but who cares? I don't think there is an OEM setup where the fogs aren't halogen. I may be wrong but I don't recall any car having stock HID floods. I would think we look like every other car out there...but maybe that's your point. |

actually for myself, it turned out the ballast had to be replaced, steve and i worked things out and in about a week or week and half (for shipping ballast back, and shipping new one out) i was back in the game! |

harn,
Just for piece of mind, I sealed mine up in some plastic electrical boxes and haven't had any trouble with them. |

Quick Question....I know you didn't adjust them. I have a 4100 kit, and occasionally I find car that rides fairly lower than and I know that I my lights are right in his rear view mirror. So my question is how do I adjust the headlights.....
Thanks for your help

i've already tried the search functions, and haven't found any real answers yet, so i'll ask here.
i've had my mdx for about 10 days now, i really miss hids. i've been eyeing some h11 kits but want to know how well these kits maintain the stock projectors' aim. the stock setup's cutoff is very very sharp and i'd like to keep that if at all possible.
i'm looking for lumens, not necessarily color. so the kit i'm leaning towards is the xenondepot 4300k kit here. CLICKY
anyone actually used a conversion kit before? even if not in an acura? |

I have the xenondepot 4300K HIDs on mine and I really like them. I still have a very noticable cutoff, more lumens and the nice color. |

vqdriver :
As you saw i have the 6000K kit from xenondepot, i still have a sharp cutoff, the 6000K kit compared to stock halogen's is WAAAAYYY brighter but it has alot more purple blue hue than the 4300K, but for you i'd go with 4300K kit as color isn't much of a concern! still a nice color, but brighter than my kit!
hope this helps? |

Kit includes everything to install without modification, cutting, splicing, or drilling. 1 year manufacturer's warranty included that covers all parts. Everything needed to take out of the box and enjoy. The bulbs are not tinted and the output is a true plasma white. |
