My owner's manual shows how and where to add most fluids but not the transmission fluid. The trans dip stick tube is smaller than what I've had on cars in the past where you add fluid through a large diameter dip stick tube. Is there another place to add fluid that I'm not seeing or am I supposed to come up with a miniature funnel and pour it into the transmission dip stick hole? The fluid level is at the minimum mark, I just installed the Acura trailer hitch and coolers and lost a table spoon or two of trans fluid. Do you happen to know how much fluid it takes to bring the level up to the maximum level from the minimum level?
Also, this reminds me I haven't received a transmission recall notice yet, got my 2001 MDX in Feb. or March of 2001. Do you think I should have received a notice by now? Thanks.

Thankyou. That thread, by the way, is a classic example of the kind of thread filled with speculation and/or dead wrong advice given with a tone of authority. You really have to tip toe through them in their entirety to sort out the facts from the pure erroneous crap. Very scary. Thanks again.

Agree with DF. There is no rocket science here. If you have a manual or not you can change ATF. Just because we discuss how we did it along with other observations of maintenance, I fail to see how that is misinformation.
If you decide to get yours changed, please don't tell us about it. We will all strive to keep the forum on a 'low crap' diet, lest anyone get scared. |

Best you stop visiting this site altogether, or you might get crapped-on again.

Well, I had that coming to me. I've forgotten what put me in such an ugly mood that day to use that harsh language, certainly nothing to do with this forum, but there's no excuse for it and I apologize.

That's okay! You can vent here too..just be prepared for feedback. We would rather be here throwing insults back and forth than do any serious work anyway. Being retired, I can get away saying that.
Now seriously, we mostly have fun on here and hope you feel free to indulge. :4: |
