Best color side steps? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I picked up my new Aspen MDX/Touring/Navi last night (!!!!!!!!!!!) and need to order steps from Tim (and rear deflector and BSM...). I'm trying to decide on chrome/satin/black. I have downloaded practically every picture of the steps, but there aren't many of the black.

Who's got steps, and is there anyone with white (Taffeta or Aspen) who got the black steps (and can post or link to a photo)?. I am tempted to try to doctor one of the chrome step photos with photoshop to simulate it, but real pix would be better.

Thanks in advance!!!

thodgdon,

Greetings and salutations. Just happened to have a pic of a Taffeta White MDX with black side steps. Knock yourself out.:29:

Here is a set of chrome on my taffeta white.

I like black on the white MDX and chrome on the darker colors. The black steps with the black rear deflector and black Formfit front deflector look very sharp on a white MDX IMHO.

But it's your MDX, get the color that you like best. Both look good.

If I could go back and re-pick my side steps, then I would get painted running boards. I'm debating if I should sell my chrome side steps to get painted running boards on the X.

Here is a link to my X.

You can't go wrong with side steps or running boards. The X looks naked without them.

Wow. Thanks for the replies! I ordered the rear deflector, wheel locks, cargo tray, and satin chrome steps last night from Tim. I figure that I'll get them here, then if I really don't like them, I'll pay the shipping back and forth to get the black ones.

I'm currently searching the board for pix of white (either one) with the wide BDM's. I found a couple, and I think I've made up my mind...

Thanks again!

I actually think a white MDX looks best without running boards, side steps, and BSMs. Running boards really look ugly on a white X. Either of the chrome steps should look great. See my running boards install thread, I think GreatScot made a few comments there.

Yup. I've actually been lurking here for a couple of months ever since we started seriously looking at the X. Now that there's one in the garage, I can actually contribute. I picked the satin chrome to start with because it matches the somewhat DULL stock Touring rims. And I'm not planning to do anything with the rims in the near future, so we'll see how it looks.

I have to say that I really love this thing. If it had satellite radio integrated into the audio system, I would live in it...

Thanks for the replies!

thodgdon,

I would have to say that pic is an improvement over the previous.
Do you mind if I used that one when the opportunity arises?

SWEET!

Pix are on the way, but no-one wants to see pix of a naked Aspen/MDX/Touring/Navi!!!

On that note, how long does it usually take between placing an order with Tim and it being shipped (assuming parts in stock)? I ordered the steps, rear deflector and some other goodies on Sunday night.

MDtex's MDX inspired me to upgrade the BSM's on my 2002 MDX to the 2004 BSM's. They are much better looking and provide more ding protection. Definitely a good investment.:4:
