Hi,
I recently discovered that none of the DVD+R movies I've burned will play in my the factory installed DVD entertainment system in my 2004 MDX.
It plays commercial and DVD-R disks but not DVD+R. I found this amazing since I have about 10 DVD players at home and they all play DVD+R disks. I'm used quality media (Verbatim/TDK) and burners (Sony/Plextor).
Has anyone replaced the factory DVD player in their MDX?
I would like to replace mine with one which plays both DVD+R and DVD-R disks.
The form factor of the factory unit looks the same as those in PCs, except the factory unit sucks the disks into a slot instead of having a drawer.
But I don't have the manual or wiring diagram so I don't know how the factory unit is connected or whether it's been customized for Acura.
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks!

| Why not just burn DVD-R disc's? |

| Yes, I too am in the same boat. I don't think it will play any burned DVDs. I've been searching for a hack, but can't find one. I can't even figure out what brand the DVD player is. |

I can burn both but most common DVD+R media burn at twice the speed of DVD-R.
Plus my existing collection is roughly half +R and half -R.

On my 2004 factory DVD player I have been able to successfully play Verbatim and TDK DVD-R burned with Sony and Plextor burners.
With Verbatim and TDK DVD+R, I get an ERR message. I could play these using the AUX input and my portable DVD player but....
