I cut a bunch of vehicles out based on their quality ratings the BMW and Mercedes SUVs both have much lower ratings on their SUVs vs their cars!
I came down to a short list of the Volvo XC70 the XC90 the V70R or the MDX. I spent 4 hours at the Volvo Dealer yesterday and with a Corp discount and 3400.00 in Volvo discount it came out to 36K
The MDX with Touring/Nav is 40K the XC90 was 46K
The XC70 had no rear AC at all the V90 had vents for the 3rd row passengers but I just could not see spending 6K more for the 90 but felt that the 4K difference between the 70 and MDX was worth it!
The V70R is an awesome wagon 300HP and a big turbo electronically controlled suspension in great fun. However the sport seats did not fit my butt! They also have smaller mirrors on the V70 making the blind spots that much worse!
I am off to buy an MDX on Monday no car sales on Sunday in Colorado! |

Good luck. I think you will happy with your purchase. I bought an '04 NAV/RES and I love it.
We also looked at Volvo, but the wife hated the interior in the XC90, and I am not sure they had the 70 wagon when we were there. For all-around utility the MDX is beter than a Volvo wagon, but the Volvo would is certainly more sportier and faster. |
