Has anyone ordered (or attempted to) accessories from the Acura e-store link in rotation at the top of the screen? If so, what was your experience? How were the prices?

(by the way, we don't participate in the program)

I tried to find the pair of stainless steel MDX coffee mugs some where given when they bought their X there, but couldn't. Loged in right now, but now the tabs don't work.

My dealer doesn't participate either so it seems useless.

My dealer has their own independent website. It has an area for requesting a service appt. I have used this only to find out it isn't being used either. Welcome to the 21st century. Yet they have high speed internet access in the waiting area of the service dept for customer use. Go figure.

As a matter of fact, I'm placing an order with you this morning Tim!

I eyeballed it just now....

It only works for 03+ vehicles.

Prices on uninstalled parts are 20% to 30% higher (plus another 8.25% sales tax on top of that) than HAW.

ditto what Worm said....Forgive me Tim ;)

Just got a chance to try the estore from Acura Owner link. I would not order anything because of the high markup but it's great for looking up parts reference. I thought it was only for accessories but you can look up any oem parts.

I checked out the site and priced several items that I recently purchased from HAW during the one day sale. To my surprise, the total was lower even with sales tax added in??????? I will re-confirm but I was rather surprised based on all of the positive comments on this board. Not a slam but an honest observation.
jldekoning
Just re-priced with the same results as posted above. Don't know if it is a glitch but the shipping was listed when I selected the 1st 2 items but then disappeared when I got to 4 items.

I don't know about jldekoning but for me, the dealer shows up as my local dealer where I got the MDX from (Sussman Acura in NJ). I went over just about every accessories and your price is a lot cheaper.

Here are a few examples.

Satin/Chrom side step.

$625 - Install by yourself
$809 - Install by dealer

BSM
$232 - Install by yourself
$287 - Install by dealer

Tailgate Spoiler
$379 - Install by yourself
$471 - Install by dealer

Woodgrain sterring wheel
$499 - Install by yourself
$637 - Install by dealer

Oddly enough, I got a phone call from a very unhappy customer on Friday that lives in my town wondering where his e-store order was that he placed online over a month ago.

But, since we don't participate in Honda's e-store program, the order wasn't with us.......if it would have been with us in this case, he would have paid $50 less for his part and had it the next day.

Did you tell them this in your best "told you so" voice?

These comparisons are all over the place! How do they justify charging ~$120 to install the BSMs and only ~ $95 to install the sidesteps???? Or only ~ $105 to install the steering wheel?? The BSM job is about 10 minutes but the SS and SW are much more time consuming:confused:

jldekoning those quotes you got are seems really off. On numerous occasions, I got quotes to have parts install if I purchase it from Tim and they are pretty much in line with installation charges from the e-store quotes.

I agree that the labor prices are out of whack although it doesn't matter much to me as I will install most items myself. The only reason that I originally stopped by the site was to see if there were any accessories that Tim didn't have that I may be interested in. I expected that the pricing would be significantly higher than HAW. Funny thing is that I don't even have my X yet. Have been lurking for several months and will be buying an '05 in the next 3 weeks (Really want bluetooth). I will talk with the parts counter at the dealership to confirm some of the prices and will report then.

Check the site for youself. Enter 95746 as the zip code and select Niello Acura as the e-dealer. I have done it several times over the last few days to make sure that there wasn't an error and I keep getting the same pricing.
vlam
I just did and I got the same price you posted. Weird. With some of those installation price being so low, it may be worth it to have them install since it will be cover under manufacturer warranty.
hondacuraworld
If you guys want that stuff, you'd better grab it from them quick.....asuming they actually honor those prices. From those figures, they screwed up their pricing matrix for their e-store account.

You know, I believe that fair is fair. I am not looking to take advantage of what may be a mistake. Tim, I have already ordered the stuff from you (you are holding it until I decide on a color) and would rather support your efforts on this forum.

i can't manually select a dealer on eStore? i'm in Reno, NV, 150 miles from Sacramento, CA (got my MDX at Niello Acura), but the eStore displays only dealerships in Nevada, Las Vegas to be exact, which is 400 miles away.

Try a different zip code. They may default to NV Acura dealers based on your NV zip code.

I'm sure you get the idea. I chose a few of the more popular items. I know that everyone is entitled to make a living but this seems excessive. But we do live in this great land and people are free to choose what their mark up is.

Is it any wonder that Tim was #1 in sales of accessories??? We are damn lucky to have him. :18:

I would also like to say that this isn't an indictment of the whole operation at Precision. I had a great sales experience and the service dept. is top notch.:trustme:

And since this is America, I choose not to use their parts department. :noshiz:
