| I had asked for some pics several months ago. Didn't see any. I went ahead and installed two bike racks this past winter. The pics are from April. Finally getting around to posting them. If anyone has any questions about the racks, let me know. Oh, one word of caution. Make sure the installer, if not you, installs with the key lock facing OUT. Mine initially was installed the other way, but I caught the problem immediately. :) |

| How easy is it to get them up there and back down? Is there a lot of additional wind noise with them attached? |

The bikes are tough to get up and down, but I am tall (6'3"), so it is manageable, but on a flat surface only. I discovered that the hard way.
As for wind noise, there isn't much noticeable difference, imo. I think the cabin is already noisy if I have the moonroof open. If it is closed, I do not notice any additional noise, nor sense any wind resistance. The worst thing about the whole thing (unrelated) is having your bikes on top tends to get them dirty with bugs and stuff in freeway or highway driving. |

| Thanks, make sure the bikes have a good coat of Zaino on them to help ease the bug removal!:7: |

| If I had that, I know I'd hit the bikes by accident onto some overhang. |

It's funny you mention that. I started to do this the other day as I was going to pull into a drive through. It's very easy to forget when you are in wide-open space with blue skies. I had to back out (no one behind me), park, and then go inside to get my meal to go. :D
Hammer is right about getting bug crap off the bikes by using wax. The same can be said for putting wax on your rims to make them easier to clean. |

Thanks, but I am thinking it might just be a tad late for me to do that now. Besides, I do like the functionality of using the MDX rack for other things, such as the luggage carrier, if I so choose. Anyway, it is all good as long as you can haul your bikes around! :D |

twosomeca,
The Yakima solution is a fully functional and completely adjustable roof rack that allows me to carry a multitude of different loads (not just the bikes) on the roof.
In that respect, it is much more versatile than the OEM fixed roof rack which can not be adjusted, and is therefore limited in its use. |
